Kickstart assembly help

Ok, this sh*t is giving me a headache,someone point me in the right direction.

The manual says the spring im pointing at goes in the hole im pointing at, BUT when i put it like that, it pushes the kickstart completely back like in the picture.....so i just let the spring go in another random place and the kickstart worked fine, but i feel like its still wrong.....what do i have to do??

no, the spring goes in the hole in the case, not in the cover.

I know, but when i put it in the hole its suppose to go, it forces the kickstart completely to the back

are you putting the rest of the kickstarter back in correctly? are you lining up the tab where it belongs?

Yep everything is fine, i dunno why, but when i put it in a wrong way, it works...wtf..

there's a round part on the spring that goes into one spot, the single post goes into that small hole, and that small arm goes into another spot, they all 3 have to be in the right places to make it work.

in the first pic you can see the 3 parts you need to align, the round part of the spring, the single straight part, and then the alignment lug

ok, now you have to put it in the right way, this pic should show you where things go, you have to look closely to find the looped end of the spring

nah all the parts slide around on there, no need to disassemble, that took me about 45 seconds to align and install

what i meant was take the kickstart out, cuz i didnt do it cuz the nut is freakin hard, but ill just soak it in penetrating oil.

its gonna be pretty difficult to do that nut if the motor's not in the frame

Well i got it on, finally, that sprng normally doent align right??so i have to force it a little....but its finally on, thanks brotha! guys like you make this forum what it is! I:I

normally you have to move those things around to get them lined up, then pull the single little spring piece around to the hole where it belongs.
