i wanted to flip my rims in the front around and i went to do it and when the tire spins the vavle stem hits the break caliper? is there a way to fix this or can i not flip the rims

you hav'ta get shorty valve stems to use with calipers, the standard length stem only works on drum brake bikes

i believe the short chrome ones will work, i think just the threads and cap stick out

You can remove the stock valve stem and put one in backwards, then drill a new hole on the opposite side and install a valve stem. This way you can use standard valve stems and the stem will be on the outside of the rim to put air in the tire. Thats what I did when I flipped my stock rims

this is what i did also, makes it kinda nice having the valve stem on the outside like its supposed to be, all last season with my drum brakes i would have to reach around the tire to fill it from the backside..
