i need a rich jetting starting point my mods will be: no airlid, full ct right bend pipe, vm 28mm mikuni roundslide carb (takes same jets as 26mm) aftermerket foam filter...

im currently on a 300 main jet and its runnin rich with full fmf and no airlid and aftermarket foam filter and im at 250 feet ASL

Running 32:1 ratio a #290 should put you on the money.

You want a rich start you said.

With the cooler weather i would start at a #300 or #310 main.

then why when people get bigger carbs do the main jets ussully get smaller? wouldint they get bigger since theres more air flowing through a bigger carb?

correct! more air means MORE fuel. think about it; 26mm carb, 300 main jet vs 28mm carb, 300 main jet. the 28 mm will flow more air and fuel with a 300 main than a 26mm with the same size main jet. thats why i said a 290 main (which is a rich starting point with a 28mm) set your needle in the middle, same (stock size in 26mm) pilot jet 32.5 and try it from there.

wouldint the 290 be a lean starting point then? you said bigger carb means bigger jets? and im at 300 with my 26 right now??

i think a 290 or 300 IS a rich starting point. like you said; i see guys who add bigger carbs have to jet smaller. a 290 will act like a 310-320 in a 26mm. with a 28mm a 290-300 will be rich.

in pieces!!!! LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!
