I had a guy call me asking if I wanted to trade, here is what I would trade.

01 Bombardier Traxter 500 4x4

And he would trade,

Bombardier ds 650 with:
  • Racing Cams
  • Bigger Carb, TM 45
  • Waco Clear Radiator Hoses
  • Ported Intake Manifold
  • New Clutch Pack installed a couple of years ago
  • Water Pump
  • Full Ron Woods Race Exhaust
  • Ron Woods Rev Box(CDI)
  • Nerf Bars
  • Devoure Flame Grafix Kit on it which covers all the plastics
  • Two sets of rear tires 20" for the track woods, and 18" for the ice studded.
  • Stock Carb
  • JE Piston 11:1 compression head gasket
  • Spare new parts for the carb

He estimates the value at around $3000, I have no idea if people would pay that for that quad. It comes with the piston and head gasket because he was going to stick that in for racing but never got around to it. I don't know the year or the condition but I will find out when he gets here tomorrow. The two KBB values on his quad is around $1,400 and $2,000. These values are slightly under the values for my quad. Would you guys do this trade? I would really enjoy riding this quad for a while but I would like the resale value to be about the same as my quad now.

Thanks for the input!

I've never ridden a 4x4 quad, and you say your looking for a more sportier quad and ya want money, I'd beware!

DS's used to be real popular, I don't really read much or see much talk about them on other forums anymore :/

Your add says you want a sportier quad and you want money for it that's why your selling. I know that the DS is sportier, but is it worth as much as yours? Is it in great shape? , Just saying be careful with a trade, you always are taking a chance!

Ah, I see what you guys are saying. If the quad isn't in excellent shape like mine is then I probably will not be trading. I will check everything on that quad!

The guy just left.....................................with his own quad! I found some big dents and a bend in the front a-arms, rear shock needed to be recharged, fenders were not very tight, nerf bars were loosey goosey, it needed to be given full throttle to even start, would not start without the seat on because it got to much airflow, one of the water pump hoses came loose and spilled everywhere while running, throttle pull was stiff as a mofo because of the aftermarket carb with stiff spring, exhaust was rusted like crazy, neutral and oil light did not work, he didn;t have a key so it had a DIY toggle switch, grips were worn, front brakes didn't work. That's all I can remember for now. He didn't want to trade because he put his heart and soul into that quad. 8-| Seems he should have put some more wrench time into it. I would never have done that trade but I am glad he said no, he traveled 2 hours to meet, I would have felt like a jerk if I said no. Overall I am happy that I got to ride it, it had way more power then I could ever use! I have two other people interested in my quad now so hopefully I can sell it soon!

Generally, no. But these dents pushed the tubing clear in to where the tubing became flat. And they just give me a hint of how the quad has been taken cared for and how he drove it.

Thats a real shame about that DS650 guy up the road has one he got a couple towns over from some kid that couldnt get it running for 500!

Brought it home and found a bad ignition switch or something ignorant to that effect and hes worked that thing over its scary fast!Out of the box theyll run like 105mph!WTF youd ever need an atv to run those speeds is beyond me but id like to know i can.lol

What exactly are you looking to trade for?Do you have a particular quad in mind?

105mph! I would love to see that, or try it. haha I l sometimes like to put up that I would consider trades for my quad just to see what I get. 90% of the trade offers are crappy deals for me, like a 1986 CR250 that needs a throttle cable or something. Occasionally I bump into someone with a pretty good trade, like that DS650, I would have loved to trade if his was in good condition. So generally anything that peeks my interest and that I can sell for the same or more amount of money then the machine I am selling.
