I'd take it if I was MXing, but it's pretty damn wide for XC which is what I MOSTLY do.

i believe they make it in a more narrow version for trails but i could be wrong on that yfz450x wouldnt be bad eather

Yea I bet the new ones are beastly in terms of power. The new YFZ does piss me off though since it gained like 20lbs in weight. That is one area where air cooled 250Rs will always dominate...........weight.......a nicely setup 250R would weigh 100lbs less than the YFZ.......that's like riding without an entire person on the quad.

I'd get a Utility quad.
Can Am or Thundercat 1000.
4x4's are pretty much the only thing that will make it on alot trails like Hatfield Mccoy.

I didn't go last year, but my buddies did. They said it was a lot of fun, but a pain in the ass to get around plus they had a rainstorm and the roads were getting washed away and crap.

Yeah my boy goes every year. He loves it! I have to miss out- the Blasty doesn't have a chance up there.
Def need good rims, 4+ ply tires, 4x4, and a winch lol

They went down with a YFZ, Outlaw 525, DS450, KFX700, Rincon, another utility, and TRX400. I think a few others went down. They said they had to take it pretty slow and the 4x4s were beating them. I:I I've never been down there so I can't say. Then again, they beat the ever living hell out of their quads, so it wouldn't surprise me what they did with them.

1st gen 81-82 250r air cooled

2nd gen 83-84 250r air cooled

3rg gen atc250r water pumper 85-86
