i was just curious on what hp i might be pulling now and after...

heres now

fmf Gnarly pipe
.30 over
lid removed
boyesen dual stage reeds
powercore 2


and after

lid removed
28-30mm carb (havent decided yet)
boyesen dual stage
weisco .40 over
ported
head rechambered

just wondering an estimate...

Porting will,or should be set up for your riding style. I like and prefer an "Aggresive Trail" port job and a properly rechambered head. This is going to surprise the hell out of you! Proper carb (size) selection is a must!. Don't go too big,or you will hate yourself. I'm still running the stock VM26 mikuni. It works flawlessly,and keeps that air velocity up where it should be. Don't get sucked into buying to big a carb because everybody else thinks you need one. Do this modification last.
Question... Why do you want to bore the cylinder another .010? Is your compression low?

Just the head rechamber makes a huge improvement! The head mod and porting will blow your mind. Worth all work,or money spent.

yea i had i would guess 60psi, so im doing a top end rebuld now.... and i was planning on 28mm pwk carb, but i fugured a 30 might be better for the head mod??? i have a whole thread on what was happening to the top end

Try the stock carb first. You'll be very surprized how well it works. Remember to go up a few sizes in main jets. I had to go from the stock 230 to a 340.

You can add a larger carb later. Try the stock carb first (its free).

I agree, I think that's the route I'm taking except, I'm going to try an aftermarket or MAKE a better airbox system. I think the stock airbox n tube REALLY hinder the performance of any carb.
 
Easy cheesy homie! There's a few threads about installation with good pics and details. Ima do mine next week or 2. 40 bucks beats 100 for another carb that I gotta spend More money on for jetting! Last time it was over 175 and I STILL couldn't get it to run right. The mikuni runs awesome, and I know with a few dollars worth of tweaks, I'll get what I want outta that cheaper. It's all about the money man!!! Its just something to think about...
