holy crap some sweet motors

im sure you could make them handle. i mean come on they cant be cheap so why not shell out a little more $$$ to make them turn lol

Those engines would be toast on trails and have no tractable power band to ever use in "real life" scenarios other than dragging.

It's no different than putting a 120hp shee on alky in the trails/MX with a 55hp 450........450 will win EVERY time.

bullshit a fuel injected turbo engine is just a trail ridable as any carbed n/a motor

^^^^^ kinda what i was getting at. betcha tht 4 cylinder banshee or 2 cylinder cr500/1000 would have some mad torque for the trails

I'd really love to see a motor like that air or liquid cooled run reliably while blasting through the trails.......which they couldn't do anyways since they have the most gaudy peaky power ever for dragging.

dude 10 years ago a 900 horsepower street car was a majorly unpleasant car to drive for more than 10 mins at a time now i have a twin turbo ls1 98 camaro that makes 1300 horse to the rear wheels and can be driven anywhere as a daily driver and gets awesome gas mileage as long as im not f*cking around too much so now go back and do some research before u make anymore dumb comments hell my buddy has a 05 vette that makes 900 to the rear tires that is daily driven also

........and how many of them are hitting a race track any time soon.......and I mean a REAL race track with turns?

This is what you fail to understand. When people take their Blasters or quads out to trails, they are going up and down through the gears approaching 9000rpm in off/on load situations CONSTANTLY. They aren't "daily driving" at a constant 2000rpm through the trails. 8-|

dude ur waging a battle u have no chance of winning. a turbo motor isnt peaky it makes power everywhere, lots of it! u take 2 banshees 1 n/a and 1 turbo and run them thru some trails the turbo one will kick the sh*t out of the other.

Turbos have to spool bro. On top of that, you are running immensely more air/fuel and the operating temps raise dramatically. The Banshee's have cooling and operating temp issues enough as it is before impeller switches, coolant changes, etc. I'm doubting there is a large intercooler system in place to dissipate this effect to a large degree. Even then, the turbos on a shee will be peaky and this will only complement the peaky powerband of the Banshee as it already is with just a set of pipes.

I'd really love to watch it though. I wish we had 2 quads available to test this out on. I'd love to watch the forced induction or drag related banshee on trails or an MX course for longer than 10 minutes. I'll throw down $$$ the engine is toast by the time it's over. I:I

i can tell just by the way u talk that u have never owned anything turbo or supercharged. your so far off base with your opinion that im not even gonna bother arguing with u 8-|

Yea because we all know in ALMS, CRAPCAR, F1, IRL, SCCA, etc. they use turbo cars to put out all that wicked "torque" and it makes them so much faster. 8-| NONE of them use them because it comes at the sacrifice of engine life and even a peaky powerband in the damn cars. The ONLY thing that has ever ran turbos or any other kind of forced induction are the Audi's......with turbo diesels....because the turbo compliments the upper RPMS while the diesel supplies the torque and in the OLD F1 cars about 15 years ago......that made vastly more peak power than the current F1 engines, yet today's cars turn faster lap times......hmmm interesting. Not to mention those turbo cars had HORRIBLE reliability and were dropping left and right.

You can't have EVERYTHING bro. An Olympic sprinter isn't going to win the Olympic marathon, A body builder isn't going to be a wide receiver, a full on drag car isn't going to win(or finish) the 24 hours of le mans, and a fabbed up full on drag/forced induction Banshee, isn't going to be beating anybody reliably on the trails.

How many people here have seen a drag engine/forced induction engine on a quad at the trails/MX, compared to what you have seen at drags/dunes?........nuff said.

HINT: There's a reason why that is. ;)
