I was riding this past weekend and had some issues with my Blaster, after checking the basics I have fuel and spark but low compression. I pulled it behind another quad and it started but wouldn't stay running when the wheels stopped turning, I could feel air coming out from underneath the exhaust manifold. I replaced the gasket, when I had the head off I noticed that the piston was heavily worn to the point that the upper ring is gone. I know dumb question but is this going to prevent it from starting?

absolutly, your going to have to rip the top end off, bore out the cylinder get a new piston kit.
But if it were me, i would put new rings on and try it, if it blows up wel you just gonna have to rebuild it.

yes sir it is time for a rebuild. if you have the extra cash do what smoker says and add a lil more pep to it.
