hey there, bought a 91 blaster it came with a fmf exhaust system but has no flange on head pipe.how do I attach it to engine.(fmf gold series) thanks

well you will have to get the plange that it came with. I doubt you will find one on ebay. I would try to contact fmf and if they will sell just that then they would probably be happy to take your money or at least give you a part # and a dealer name where you can get it

ur fkd dude im having the same problem! i bought my bike with the FMF fatty with, i believe is the stock flange and it doesnt have the loop for the spring and it leaks exhaust. i been goin crazy tryna find a FMF flange and spring . FMF doesnt sell it separately i dont think. i know their orders have to 30+ and the spring is 2.50. heres the thread were we talked about it at http://www.blasterforum.com/engine-13/fmf-sst-exhaust-37195/

cut the flange off your stock pipe and have it welded to the fmf....

as for a spring. if you find a flange.. go to your local hardware store and get springs.... i got springs for my lrd from true value hardware store..

i have the flange on mine with no loop for the spring. the header has a loop for it tho and thats where it leaks at. i tried pushing the head INTO the motor as if a spring but still leaks. im gonna get the sh*t welded if i cant find a flange and spring. with this guy i dont think he even HAVE a flange period. so theres no way he can get that fatty on there without it. stock flange yes. like mine if its even stock idk. worth a try

thanks for your replies.I'll have a flange made and weld it on.Do I still need the spring. What is the spring for.

I'm just going to weld flange to pipe solid. What do you think, good idea or bad idea?

idk. ure better off finding a flange and spring. FMF springs are 55mm u can get that anywhere but its that damn flange man.. FML. im in no rush im gonna wait til i come across one im tired of looking for one. in the mean time me head can leak. i barely ride anyway. i think welding it in place is a bad idea i dont wanna RIG my sh*t up u know?

not a good idea, vibration may crack the pipe, and it will be harder to get the pipe in and out of the quad

I will be damn near impossible to get the pipe off the cylinder and not mess up the studs doin it, if ya weld it, I'd weld a loop for a spring but dont weld the flange on the pipe.

i know my right bend you have to twist and turn to get it it out if the flange was welded to the pipe- forget it it would be junk never go on. Not sure about a FMF however.

to late,my flange is being made at a welding shop as we speak. The fmf will slide into the pipe on the flange.depending on how snug it fits I may just use bolts and spring. Then if its still leaking I'll wel it.

Bummer, i just talked to FMF support and the flanges are available item # 020474. Any FMF dealer can get them. I forgotb to ask about the cost. Telephone number is 1-310-631-4fmf.

just ordered a flange kit from fmf for 32.00 they said I'll have on monday.thanks to everyone for your replies.
