hard to start

So I got a 94 blaster the other day and to say the least it was a mess it had oil in the injection and gas tank the cdi box was not connected the carb needs replaced and it wont idle do to the box the idle
Screw whent in is broken
But now its hard to start I kick it about 15 times before I dose anything but once it starts it runs amazing could the bad carb keep it from starting or what else could it be
