Happy Birthday to.....

Happy late B day Herp.. My b day was yesterday too ;) Thanks Awk.. Hope you had a good one Herp..

Happy late bday to both of ya'll. I've prob wired up 100 stereos the hard way, even ran amps with romex and a light switch lol. Screwed up the interior lights on a few cars too lol. I had a pioneer 12" shallow sub behind my F-150 with 300 running to it I think and it sounded real good. I'm mentoring my nephew with his senior project, he did his paper on noise pollution, its almost done now but this is the only pic I've got right now

2 -12s and a 10 custom built for the back of his rodeo to go against the backseats and between the wheel wells

Still waiting on the wire adapters.

I came up with a plan though, I want to lower the truck. not sure how much, lower the better

been researching, and i think i can do maybe a 5" drop in the rear without cutting the frame
and the front sounds like a pain in the butt

drop spindles are the best way to go for front lowering a ranger.
check out rangerforum.com for tons of info

fordrangerforum or rangerforum ?
im on frf

but i dont think drop spindles could do something like a 6" drop though.

I want it low as possible without making huge changes

yes, FRF, where i got all my ranger info, I don't go there much anymore, new chevy truck coming soon, so don't care about the ranger much anymore, as long as it gets me to work daily :)

6" lower and you'll officially have a snow plow :)

saw a picture of a guy with 7/9
7 rear and 9 front

the bed has a hole in one side from rust, and a few more rust bubbles forming, dents too. I will be looking at building a flat bed for it.

Another plus to being lowered, i can put my blaster in easier. Its a two person job or ramps... front end is too wide for one person to push in

AAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNDDDDDDDDD A nice sized dent on the drivers door from yours truly..... Giz!

Backing up in the woods, turned the wheel and went sideways into a big friggin birch tree.

We popped most of it out, idk if you can see it in the picture i posted...

But the door handle works better, if you have had a ranger a while, its only a matter of time before it starts to flop

So a little update...

We are now living in ND. moved into town here :mad::mad:

So the ranger had gotten a new clutch in Feb i think. anyways, after putting less than 100 miles on it, the clutch stopped working.
turned out to be a faulty slave. replaced that, didn't help. replaced master and that worked. keep in mind we got the truck back Friday at 5pm ish
My dad drove it home (3mi) and around for maybe 2 more.
clutch stopped working again.............. Friday 8pm ish

SO, what do we do with a truck that needs to be driven over 500 miles the next day?
well, we do.

pop her in first at a dead stop. turn it over and start rolling.
probably had 20-30 stops from the old place to the road in front of the new one. so wasn't bad, but still sucked. (maybe stopped for 8-12 of them)

Anyways. The clutch is out and we are going to try some stuff on it. My dad is currently driving it while i get to baby his Jetta TDI wagon (aka Magic Wagon)

Looking for a new ranger. Found a 96 with everything else exactly the same. 140k miles. its in Nebraska, so might be a road trip
then again, hey. if i get to choose a new truck, i want to choose...
So I'm looking for a 4x4. would like it with the 4.0 V6. but from looking around, i found one in a 500 mile radius. need to check more
I would like to drive a 4x4 3.0 and 4.0 just to feel the difference. I imagine stock blaster compared to mine lol

Drove to Bismarck and looked there. found a nice ford focus.
I could live with a car until i needed to move the blaster. I could do everything else just fine in a car... unfortunately(fortunately), i still have the blaster

So my vehicle choice is up in the air...

Happy belated bday
Sweet truck, looks like mine minus its not hot pink n doesnt have a 5" pink tac lol. Sweet thing is 4cyl 5 speed gets great gas, blaster rolls right in back, can still pull trailer with ur other quads super easy n take a long trip.
I have reg cab(bench seat against back wall) fit a wedge boc with a carbon fiber 10" 800w rms sub n 600w rms amp (my smallest system iv ever built for any of my rides but space is limited) but it works great bc of space lol

Now if you wanna step up to competition level n throw something in the bed n put a tanoe cover on it, i have my compatition system from my SUV available dirt cheap very dirt cheap since it was a heafty penny when i put it togeather...
This will wake up your neighborhoods neighbors

I like the extended cab, very nice to have extra space. My brother put a sub right where one of the rear seats was. sounds okay, but he needs to build a real box

My blaster will not roll right in... takes two people to load with no ramps. With ramps i can drive right up in.

The 4 cyl isnt strong enough, my brother could barely pull a small trailer with both the quads on it. and he has the lower gearing for the tow package...

I really want to get a 4x4 4.0 but i want a manual. Maybe i will have to give up on that though

found a 4.0 auto owned by an older gentleman on bisman
3.0 manual on craigslist owned by ?? so idk how it was treated.

anyone know how much of a difference is between the 3.0 and the 4.0?

Herp, if you can find a decent automati you can afford, is reliable, and well maintained....BUY IT! I've always had manuals, but because they were always decent trucks that I could afford at the time.

That one the older fella has would probably be a good truck, They usually take care of their whips, and make a good 2nd hand car. Just my $0.02....trying to help ya.
