Had small accident yesterday

Living in south africa can sometimes be a bit dangerous!
I went riding with my kid yesterday on a dirt road at the back of my house(a road that we use every day) and got stopped suddenly with a bang and locked rear wheels! Someone had put fenching y-poles in the middle of the road! Just as deep as not to see it in the grass. It ripped of the 3mm stainless steel skid plate and pushed it over the rear sprocket and locked the wheels.

Tried to bend it back or break it off but had to ride home with it

This stuff is no good.When I was younger I was riding some power lines and all of a sudden there was a big metal pole sticking out dead center of the trail.I hit it head on and head over heels.Hurt like hell.Ended up being a older truck driveshaft that someone dug into the ground.This sort of stuff is no good and should not be tolerated.Glad to hear you are ok.

what comes around goes around.....back in the day there was a dude who welded nails into spike balls and thru them on the trails near his house tryin to keep us from hunting there, it didnt work, after we got numerous flats, we started walking in and shot everything that moved just to piss him off, i think we shot 16 deer that year, well turns out about 5 years after my bro moved from there we saw in the paper he had a tire blowout on his truck and crossed the center line head on into a tractor trailer......

I took the truck with a winch and pulled it out of the ground. Here they do it to hi-jack you. But they know you would not really have any thing of value, so you get killed or shot just for fun. Some time ago we had a guy who ran in to a steel wire across the road at chest level. Took him of the bike and broke 2 ribbs and got mugged. This is not on a trail it were on one of the gravel roads to farms around town!

what the fuc* i took a coner on my rm their was a metal rod all bent up my front wheel cought is and now i have 5 screws and a plate in my leg after 4 months of a cast i can be out ripping again glad u and your kid r ok

Yes didn't end too bad but you know how much does a nice skid plate cost here? I phoned sss and the same stainless steel plates cost now more than R1300.00 and the hyde product of plastic almost R600.00

Like you said!! The most parts here you have to buy new ones at the dealers or big importers but they know they can ask what ever the like for them!
You should see what tires cost here! Maxxis razar2 20x11x9 almost $100(R699.00) a piece if you are able to get then

Man that sucks, when i was younger we use to have to ride on the side of farmers fields to get where were going and this one farmer used to shoot at us with a shotgun, with salt bullets in it when u got hit it would punksher the skin and then the salt would make it hurt like hell!
