The truck is in really good shape and has 85k miles on it.

only three bads

1.)Needs tires which my dad and i ahve a deal on that
2.)Needs a parking brake release cable
3.)reverse lights are broken.

In case your wondering about teh tire deal, in febuary he is going to buy new ones for his new one and im going to get the old ones off the new truck(nice tread) because their the same size.

Damn nice looking truck! I say if those are your biggest problems you scored big time!

Truck looks great!

BTW, a new brake release cable will run you about $ 40.00 from the dealer. Mine broke, too, and I had to replace it a couple years ago.

thanks guys!

First thing is first the stickers on teh back are coming off right away(tomorrow morning) excpet for teh white sox ones(im a huge white sox fan and i put them on there today). Looking to buy a blasterforum.com decal to run on the back of there.

The truck is a little dirty, but that should be cleaned up here in the next couple days.

if you cant tell by the stickers my dad was a skydiver.

13 bucks at autozone...checked today I:I Gonna pick one up at teh junkyard tomorrow as well as the cable for the backup lights. Should only be about 20 bucks for both. that is if i can find one thats not broke or frayed, might just be a good idea to buy a new one.

I have an 04 Sierra with a 5.3 motor. Great drivetrain, TERRIBLE electronics. Right around 100,000 miles some of your gauges will stop working. It's the stepper motors. You will also have problems with your climate controls. I havn't figured those out yet! All in all it's a great truck.

yeah speedometer on the way home from my dads was reading 45 when i was actually doing 70. Its kinda wierd on it. Dont know how to fix it other than a new dash

Don't get a new dash. You can remove your dash (it's easy) and send it out to get fixed. Doesn't take long and is less than 100 bucks. Do a search on stepper motors for your truck. You'll find some companies. I know these trucks pretty good feel free to ask.

Must be chevy. My 09 Silverado with 6.0 Vortec has problems with window button, and lots of other sh*t. Had wire harness replaced, and acting up again. It only has 50k miles too!

doing the motors yourself seems pretty easy. 20 minutes of getting the gauge cluster out and a few hours doing the swap. Wouldnt be to hard.

I sent mine out. Unless you are really good a soldering don't attempt it. The contact points are close together and you have to be careful with heat on the circuit board. If you mess the board up you will have to get one and get all your mileage transferred to it. I am usually a DIY er, but I opted out of that one.

Nice looking truck Nathan.Looks great!!Dad gave you a great deal on it for sure. Those little six cylinders run forever.I have well over 100k on my work truck(just a few years newer) ans it's always loaded down with tools and material.I have done a radiator and one set of brakes to it so far. It's getting close to time for a tune up for me.lol Great truck, enjoy it!!!

The best thing about it is you will have plenty of room for the blasty in it. I guess we will see you at Awk mountain this year. Nice score on the truck.

There is a TSB (Tech Service Bulletin) out on these truck's climate control system problem. I got a letter in the mail about mine back in 2010. I forgot what exactly goes wrong with them (corroded connections over time I think), but Chevy knows about the issues and has a fix for it. I would call a dealer and see if you can have it checked out per the TSB. Many of these fixes are covered under warranty even if the truck's factory warranty has expired.

The gauge cluster problems are caused by plastic drive gears in the stepper motors. As the gears wear, they jam and release at random, causing the needles to go crazy. On my 2004 Siverado, the cluster lasted about 85K. I had a mobile repair guy come out and rebuild it right in the parking lot at work. Never had a problem since. The new stepper motors have metal gears, so no more sticking.
