got a 2001 yz 250 for my blaster

made a few gussets, my buddy didnt come threw on cutting em out for me so i used a grinder and a bench grinder to make the points. i think they came out pretty good. went ahead and tied the upper rails i made to upper shock mounts.

just got home from work this week to have some goodies in the mail. got a cfm aluminum airbox and a green/black gripper seat cover, the black part is gripper. i got the round carrier last week in the mail from oregondunes so soon i will be starting on the swingarm.

looks like im gonna have to make some changes in the pipe on the cfm because it sits crooked under the seat and im not crazy about it being crooked. it also is at a funny angle to the carb and i really dont think it will seal that well being at that angle. i figure by the time i buy the pipe and pay someone to weld it i could prolly have built my own but since i already have it ill see what i can come up with. hopefully tomorrow my stage 3 elka rear shock and oconner bushings come in. here's a couple pics

the peg coming off of the side of the box is one of there "mounts" it's supposed to sit in between the frame rails....

I hope you box is built better them mine, I think the guy was drunk when he welded mine... he welded the angle at the end of the boot the wrong way....

im not sure if mine is the right way or not since its not going on a blaster motor, im def gonna have to do something i can stand it being crooked

heres the solution to your crooked mismatch motor/cfm box............

Bending Reducer

you can trim it to fit your needs, the box side takes a 2.5" the carb will be smaller,
my 34pj is 2.25"
so i have a 2.5 x 2.25 straight reducer
they may be other sites that sale these types of reducers
in 15 or 30 degree angles ?????? google silicon intercooler
reducers ????

if ya order from here, get the clamps, they are tits !!!!

edit...... looks like if you get one of the 45 reducers from above, it may take a combo of cutting the reducer and the last little bit from the cfm tube ????

got this in the mail today elka stage 3 400ex, cant wait to get a ride on it. what size bolts are yall using for the top mount? ive been to the hardware store and i searched and searched but cant find the right size diameter bolt to fit snug inside the shock or the bushings i got from ken. dropped my seat off to get the cover put on should have it back by the end of the week.

thanks whitty its starting to come together. i FINALLY found a guy that builds nerfs with integrated heel guards, he is supposed to have the first set out at the end of this week so hopefully i can snag a set. ordered some aluminum tubing to get my cfm airbox to work, gonna have to cut the tube and make a little different angle and have it welded. also ordered the jjandaracing iron cross carrier housing and a blank brake plate so i can get the yfz caliper to work. i already have the carrier and pivot tubes from them now all i need is the chromoly tubing to build my +3 roundhouse swinger and then the motor goes off to ken

these are the nerfs i wanna get

ups finally brought my package from jjandaracing, i made a template out of cardboard to make the shape i needed to fit the yfz450 caliper. took a few times to get it just right. gotta find someone with a plasma cutter to get it cut out. didnt know if i was gonna like the iron cross carrier housing but i think it will look pretty good. i ended up sending that elka shock back to guy off ebay, although it looked to be brand new and i mean only a few little scratches it ended up being built before 2003. the way i found that out is i called elka and was asking how much one of the dual rate springs was so they guy naturally asked me for the serial number of the shock so he could look up the details on it, he told me where the number should be and no number so then he tells me that starting putting the numbers on em in 2003 and its older than that. he also told me that they dont even use the same springs as they did then and for it to be right i would need to upgrade the springs to the newer style to get the best out of the shock, well thats over 200 bucks for those. i contact the guy off ebay and told him how old the shocks was because he told me he thought it was only a year old and the springs would have to be replaced so he apologized and offered a full refund so i took him up on that. so now im back to square one on my rear shock because i sold the z400 shock i have but ive got my eye out for a new shock.
