Front brakes

I have an 03 blaster which i believe that is supposed to have disk.
but it has drum.
the drums dont work the part were the cable connects to the drum is broke what should i do? i would perfer disk but i dont want to spend much money.

If its an 03 it has disk. I dont know of ANYBODY that would switch from hydro to drum brakes for any reason. Are you sure that the bike is an 03?

get a new cable...could be a 02 or older with a 03 hood

I thought the same thing why would someone switch. but any idea were i could find everything like spindle disk lines and master cylinder and whatever is needed. i looked on ebay didnt find nothing

looks like they sold them for the cash and tossed on some old crappy mechanical brakes.Then sold it to you.Try to convert back to hydros,it will be worth more in the long run.IMO

check your vin #, and somewhere on here (diy, i think) theres a post that tells ya "how to tell what year it is" <<<< yeah search for that, your just gonna have to keep watchin ebay till a front set show up

Watch e-bay and be patient. I picked up my front setup for $270 which included, ASV lever, master cylinder, dual stainless brake lines, spindles, hubs, rotors and calipers. Definitely worth the upgrade, with the hydro setup I am able to lock the front tires up with 2 fingers vs. squeezing with everything I had just to to slow down with the drums. If you decide to stick with drums I have all the parts if you need them, you can have them free just pay shipping.

what is the 10th digit of your vin #??

if it is a 3, you have an 03

2=2002
1=2001

x=1999

what type of brakes on the back? it could be a 02 or something with some modified sh*t.

I have rear disk brakes. and i know its an 03

all the blasters came with rear disc breaks. the 88-02 has mechanical calipers, and the 03-up had hydro calipers. whats your VIN?

To convert back to factory front hydros all you really need is the 03-06 spindles.Then the calipers.lines,master cylinder,hubs,rotors,etc. can all come from a warrior or banshee.The warrior or shee parts you will find cheaper than the 03-06 blaster parts and are the same.Good luck.

i would also say check the vin on this one.i was told mine was an 01 and its a 00 so just to make sure

The back is disk brakes.
And im sure its an 03

^^^ the last number is not the year the tenth digit is the year. Here's a list I got from another member
