fresh top end build

Hello everyone! im a Dixie chopper mechanic... since the grass is not growing we have branched out to any and all mechanic work. I just finished a top end build and everything turned out fine... it starts great runs great but when im sitting in neutral and barely give it throttle just off idle, it begins to rev higher and higher till its time to hit the kill switch. Any ideas?

we located the idle adjuster screw and ran it in and then out a few times. we set the idle where we liked it. shut the shop down....
I came in this morn. walked strait to it. one kick.. and she purrs like I kitten... let it warm up for 2 r 3min.... its doing just fine no run on or slow rev ups.. very cool...

I trust that you did it the following way, if not you could be masking an air leak.

Idle adjusting.

Set float level, make sure that all jets are clean and fuel flows freely from the float bowl drain when the screw is cracked open.

Start with air screw 1.5 turns out.

Set idle screw so that it has some sort of idle. With TORS it is the big screw under seat on top of unit. With no TORS is is the brass screw midway down carb body.

Warm up motor and then set idle screw for a faster idle, 2000rpm+

Adjust air screw either way to get the fastest idle.

Adjust air screw a little at a time leaving 10 secs or until the motor responds.

Re adjust idle screw for desired idle .

when looking at the sight glass for oil level, why does it show empty when engine is running then settles back to half up the glass when shut down?

When running the oil is being flung lubing the clutch assembly. Then settles when not running.

FYI this is not the same oil you use in either pre-mix or the oil tank at the back of the Blaster if it is still there. Do a search for gear oil or clutch oil and you will see the varying opinions of what should or could be used.

The oil visible in the sight glass is transmission oil and has nothing to do with the engine.
