well there sayin tonight is the final launch for the shuttle program.it goes off at 11:59pm tonight.if ur around central florida or on the west coast you can probably see.my dad sees it in the day time and hes 2hrs away.

a couple months ago when i was livin in orlando i scene it, a super glorified bottle rocket is what it looked like but it was awsome because of the speed it has is crazy, it shot up passed the trees so fast and the flame was so bright i think traffic stoped on our street for a while cuz people where watchin
yea it goes over 15,000mph.it said it was goin 4 miles in 1 second when it went off tonight.im like 10min from it
the space shuttles are very old and expencive, so NASA is going to retire them in 2010 and replace them with space craft similar to the old Apollo rockets in a few years.
When I was in the Navy we used to go there to keep the boats away from Cape canavaral, so we usually had good seats for the launch. I have seen 3 of them. 1 was while I was in boot camp at Orlando.
yea night launches are the best.it lites up the whole sky.but once u live here and see everyone that goes up they get old after awhile.
They say there retiring it and getting new but i think it has to do a lot with the sun cycle from 2010-12. thats the solar peak for the cycle and scientists don't know how to predict it so i think they are just trying to be careful and not trying to scare people by telling them the real reason their not launching for a few yrs.
