extended swingarm

I built my own +4 for my banshee,it handles trails just fine but doesn't jump as well.

I found the components at JJ and A racing. great pricing

I had strokedtater build me a +4. I've run it on the track n love it, on the trails I ride it's still pretty nimble considering the Width and length. Total is +6 wider than stock and +5 total in length. For serious trail riding I'd recommend a +3. Keeps wheels down and still very maneuverable.

i have a plus 4 from tater and i love it, i think its great on the trails as well.. i am very pleased with it all around...I:I

im glad you guys are enjoying your swingarms! I:I

a big improvement in handling and ridability for sure.

Another opinion FWIW:
I'm building another +4 right now. We've run stock, +2 and +4 on our very tight trails and the +4 is the quickest. Our mudlites really hook up in our terrain and an aggressive rider needs to keep the front tires planted to turn. The shorter arms want to push the front off the track accelerating out of turns.
Depends on where and how you ride. Also depends on your size. If you're small, a short arm is OK cuz your weight will be forward ... if you're 6'4" , 260lbs with long legs & arms your ass will be by the grab bar and ya wheelie at the touch of the throttle :)

What size MudLites are you using?
I am running 22" and I cannot get enough gear ratio, even with 12/44.
Just spent a 3 day trip in the mud and the rocks and didn't have to be towed at all.
Just about burnt up a clutch though!

With 22" mudlites we run 12/39 on the 240 blaster motor ( in the mud hole link in sig below) and we run 12/40 with the YZ motor Blaster on our trails. The yz with 12/40 is great on our trails if you know how to carry your momentum. Cautious rookies would be slippin the clutch a bunch. The yz with 12/40 wouldn't be fun in the mud. I've got a 46 & 50 for serious creepin & mudding. The big sprockets are more likely to be damaged as we don't run skids. Stock type rear chain guide won't work with really big sprockets.
Wouldn't be without mudlites around here :)

I really liked the way the MudLites hooked up in mud and even paddled across deep water. I have some videos coming from last weekend. The 12/44 gives a top speed in the 70+mph range with the KTM motor but is a bit boggy starting off in mud or up a rock. Like you say, gotta keep moving and use momentum. About 3x faster than most 4x4 quads like to run. Quite a work out in the rocky terrain we were in.

I can just barely run the stock chain/disk guard with the 44t rear sprocket and made an aluminum chain guide up to take the smashing of rocks. Combo worked well, no problems at all on the rocks. I think a 46t sprocket would be perfect with the 22" tires and my KTM gearing.

The stock swingarm was a bit tricky on uphill sections but gives instant front wheel lift for over obstacles. I am only 5'11" tend to hug the tank. My son has a 3" extension, I think I will go for 2" and be happy with it. Driving through rocks with 40+hp and stock swinger was a bit like walking through a crowd holding a 45 with a hair trigger. Be careful or someone is gonna get hurt, only the someone is gonna be me!

Yeah, I have a love/hate relationship with the 22" MudLites now. Not the sweet sliding flat-tracker that it was with the 18" and 20" tires, but I could not have done last weekend without them. Excellent for rugged muddy trail use.
