I dont wanna start any type of debate but...
I just bought this 1995 blaster its bone stock except for dress up stuff like a cooler rack..
I bought this fmf power core 2 silencer off ebay for $55 shipped almost brand new so i figured.. good enough for now.. till i save up for a pipe and new silencer..
it ends up being way to long it sticks out the back prob 5 inchs UGLY plus it wouldnt work if i wanted to..it bumps into my cooler rack..
Anyone kno of a good online place besides craigslist and ebay for a pipe?
Also Whats proboably better between a toomey or a shearer? or any other suggestions of brands? i found a shearer and the silencer for 285.00 new
any place cheaper? Im being cheap I know but im unemployed. and i HATE the stock muffler as well as the pipe... haha

ok well a shearer is way better for trails and is good for a stock motor or a built motor.
a toomey is a top end pipe and is best for stock motors. it falls behind on more built motors.

i was thinking about cuting it shorter. or just selling the thing to sum other person...
I want a good all around pipe im a trail rider but I wanna get something good if im spending the money..
i dont plan on really boring it out.. i just bought some reeds!! :) haha
starting off slow but it will be better over time

whoever said toomey is for top end needs to buy one and try it they are good for midrange and has a good bottom low end but the top end dosent kick as hard but is consistant all the way up.. and shearer is the best pipe iv ever used i installed one on my buddys blaster and it is all power never stops going even on the top end still has some pull.. i loved the toomey when i went to the track the midrange was great pulled you out of the corners great i want to get my buddy to bring his blaster to the track with me in the summer to see how it did against my old blasty.. but shearer is the better bang for the buck put a uni filter on and its a great machine $300 for shearer and no filter or $380 for Toomey that comes with UNI filter $20 you decide

thsnks alot for the advice!! the guys at chapparal by my house just wanna sell the most expensive thing they have...
so get a fmf fatty???
haha j/k guys... :)
(nothing against fmf)i have one on my dirtbike..

i had a fatty before i got my vitos an it worked fine with the stock motor if you dont plan on moding the motor too much it will do you just fine an like said before you can cut the silencer down an make it shorter

i beilive i put in a 380 in my buddys blaster his is all stock with shearer pipe and uni filter jetted for winter.. i think i was at a 310 with my blaster for winter with a toomey and alot more mods though.. they sujest 310 for just stock bikes in summer

those fmf silencers are long, but i think a lot of blaster silencers tend to stick out the back some. hell even an fmf pipe is better than stock. for trails, look for a more midrange sort of pipe. if they are tighter, more slow going trails, go low-mid. if they are more wide open types, a mid-top would be ok. for the record....most of your riding is in the midrange...keep that in mind when building up that blaster...

when buying a pipe setup it should tell you what range the pipe is built for....
