Engine Problems

Get some pretty fine wet and dry, scrape one way in the bore all the way round, then do the other way, so it makes like X around it, give it a good blast with an air line or something and job done :)

It is important that the bore is washed out well, to remove all the abrasive, ann air line can miss some.:o

ahhh im still skeptical on it. i dont want to blow a new top end. ken will just do it. mind made up. now im still stuck on the head mod...... if i should do that or have ken do it or just leave it.

Well, I must agree if your unsure best thing is to get someone else to do it! same reason i wont split my bottom ends, never done it and worried it might go wrong so rather not take the risk lol

To do it by hand is a pretty tedious job, but yes it is possible.

Providing the bore is up to specs, any shop can do a hone job, it aint rocket science.

I have honed by hand with good results, but nothing beats a proper job.

Ide just sand it yourself, if all goes wrong and it pre-detonates, use race gas or just buy a decent 2nd head OR get ken to do it lol idk really, your choise! but the sand blasting gave mine GREAT compression

Gees, if all you need to get great compression, is a sandblasting, I am asking for a sandblaster for my birthday, which is today!

what do u guys think? bore or hone? theres a few scratches on the top of the cylinder, but nothing big. i ran my fingure nail through everything, and cant feel any scratches. but what i did notice are spots on the skirt of the cylinder where the piston was hitting. like its been indented to the shape of the piston. but its the sides of the piston where the circle clips go. i cant take a pic. it wont sho on camera. but when i ran my nail across it, it fel no different then the rest of the cylinder.

Depends on when you get it measured, but at a look i'de say hone. but obviously if it measures bad it will need a bore.

Do I see chatter marks below the exhaust and transfer ports, where the rings change direction.

If it were me, I would get that sucker bored to the next size.

Good call! Along with that bore, you'll have piece of mind. Nothing sucks more then holding back because you're unsure if it will break! I know, I've done it. When you Know it's all good, pinning the throttle WITHOUT the stress is Soooo worth it!
