engine case polishing

f7 sent you that or you bought it. I have an f7 also and they sent me some pos radiator hose as a reducer. I have a 35 mm carb. I just had to order a silicon reducer(made for turbo applications) from siliconintakes.com went ahead and got T-clamps for everything too.

will a dremel type wirewheel work for preping in the really tight areas?

I ordered the silicone reducer from the same place and it worked great. I ordered 2.5 inch. I had to cut a 1/4 inch piece off the end and put it on the outside and it worked like a champ. SRY for thread jack.

I picked up a 2.5 to 2.25 so it should fit nicely. I:I

Mike, those cases will look sweet.I pondered the idea with my 240 motor and decided against it.I don't want to have to clean it in ever nook and cranny every time I ride.I have a hard enough time keeping mine clean now.lol Plus I have no patience for polishing.I do all my own polishing work and as good as I am at it I still hate it every time.lol I ended up powder coating the cases white in the botm bike and it has held up great and look great up close.I use a 3/4 hp buffer and that thing takes my fat ass for a ride.I can't imagine using a 1 3/4 hp buffer.Looks like I may have to polish the drag bikes cases as much as I am dreading it.Can't wait to see those finsihed pics!!

Nothing looks sweeter than polishing but its so labor intensive. I prefer glass media blasting and some good high temp clear for being the lazy way out , it aint quite as shiny but not to dang bad.

polished one case half today just need to do a luil more corner area work on it then ill get the other half done tommorow

Ever try a Dynafile with Scotch-brite belts. Gets the inside radius' real easy. Scotch-brite type disks on a angle die grinder & belts on a dynafile really cut the polishing time on complex surfaces.
