Well thought id drop you all a line and fill you in on the latest with me! I just started a job as a geologist for a geotechnical services company called Control Civil Services (CCS) and spent the whole day reading standards and report structure documents..boring as anything but its a start! Word is i will be going up to Zambia from time to time to do some XRay Refraction for Zambian copper mines which will be cool!

Controlab

Before all of this I just successfully finished my BSc Honurs degree in Geology at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Port Elizabeth.

Got to ride the blaster over December and on one ride I noticed my steering was funny, I stopped and checked only to find my upper ball joint had come loose after it lost the nut! Luckily, no damage was done. My fault, no torque wrench when I tightened the nuts last time!

congrats bro !
good to see all that hard work pay off for you !

Manufacturing mishap or what, no holes for cotter pins, Nylocks on steering components!

Progress I suppose, not acceptable in my old book!:(:(:(:eek::eek:

Way to go. Over here alot of college grads work at Starbucks selling over priced coffee. Graduated and working in your field of study is awesome.

Thanks dudes! had a look at my brothers yfz with housers arms, no cotter pin holes there either! I know the holes make the ball joint thread weaker but really, im going to have to make a plan with some locktite methinks.

@ Larrys Shee, crazy continent? haha ya, you guys dont know the half of it ;)

Why worry about weaker threads, there is no nut on them all the strain they will take is the possibility of a gentle nudge from a cotter pin.
