i was on ebay couple of weeks ago and ran into someone that offered a full engine rebuild service for $350.00. i have a motor that needs top end but piston broke inside cylinder and im afraid there are pieces in bottom end. anyways, ive been searching ebay and can no longer find link. anyone know who was offering this service or was it bogus? or maybe someone one on this forum does something similar. thanks in advance.

It did sound too good to be true, guy even said that they replaced crank bearings, bored cylinder, and if needed small parts in tranny or clutch they would put in for free.

Ive been trying to find a running motor but they are hard to find in my area... I found one with fresh top end but it was 2 hrs away...might have to try and find one on this forum.

Top end was off motor and disassembled when I bought bike...cylinder good, head is good but piston skirt has chunk missing and previous owner is not sure of pieces being in bottom end. He told me I should just 'flush it' but I don't know how to do this. Crank and rod look good tho.

take motor oil and pour it down into the crank. flip motor over and let oil drain out shake the motor while doing this.

it can help get some pieces out.

if ur going to do it split the motor and rebuild it all, do it right dont half ass it or u will just have problems down the road if u dont, dont try to save a buck by doing it the cheap way because the last thing u want is to put a nice new fresh top end on it and then have to re-rebuild it because u did it the "quick and easy" way, just split it clean it out and replace the bearings. u will have fun doing it and u know it wont break this way.

ken and i have both proven the k&s base gaskets are complete garbage and guarenteed to leak, use only factory yamaha base gaskets
also, wheres this ebay guy gonna be in a month or 2 when a problem may arise ??????
i know where ken oconnor was when i had troubles, right on the other end of my cell phone, walking me thru what to do next.
best customer service in this business, and thats priceless !!!!!

I'm In Texas.....My original intention was to rebuild motor but I don't have a clue how to do it....most I've helped do is a top end and I can't afford messing up this bottom end :/
