drag port

if i drag port my blaster can i still trail ride and stuff but ima do mostly drag racing with friends
ps. by flotek drag ported
with f7 exhaust
vforce reeds 24o big bore
and probaly a stroker

yes you can still trail ride. You will have almost no low end power but when she hits those high rpms, you better hold on tight. You are probably going to want an extended swingarm. Atleast +4.

Sure you can if you like alot of clutchin. If your trails are real tight i wouldn't really recommend it.
A true drag port/piped blaster will not be trail friendly at all.

Sorry for the thread jacking but what's the difference between a drag port an an MX agressive port?

Now that is a really good question dakota. I have no clue. I know just what ive been told. What ive been told is drag port is not trail friendly and will give lots of topend. and Ive heard aggressive mx gives great mid and is suited for the track.

you will make it through yes... it will require keeping the rpm's up higher than say an aggressive trail port.unless you have a strictly drag race machine i would not reccomend it. i would get something even a tad tamer..say a dune/aggressive trail port. give denny, (flotek) a call and he will get you what you want. I guess it's who you ask to define what an 'aggressive MX' port is.
My opinion of a MX port is one that makes low end and midrange power with a broad powerband to get out of the turns faster.
An aggressive MX port would have the exhaust port raised a few degrees higher to raise the powerband up a few more rpms.
A drag and MX port are worlds apart. 2 strokes don't have a rev limit. The higher you turn them the more HP they make.
The drawback is the higher you turn them the narrower the powerband gets.
A drag port is gonna make max HP but have less of a torque curve, and a peaky powerband. Lucky for us the motor has a 6 speed tranny.
This is why on the trails around trees and such you don't want a motor that has a light switch power band like a drag port has.

id just go for a agressive mx port or trail port like stated above, stick the drag ports to the drag strips

Sounds like you need an Aggresive Trail Port. Or a Dune Port!

I don't have any experience with a drag port but I am pleased with what flotek has done to my setup . Talk to him and he will do exactly what you want to the porting that you want to do with the bike. I'm sure you will be happy.

Alain it also depends where you going to ride?? If your gonna start going to 41st more often then i will go with a drag port to have some fun on the drag strip! Besides the trails there are open as hell and its a huge open area. But if your gonna be riding at rinker get a Trial port or an aggresive trail port. If your looking for speed you got the crank and the that huge 72mm piston to make up for it. You just need the porting to wake that bastard up.And get the max performance of your setup..... Your gearing and tire size has alot to do with it too!
