DIY.. Pod filter / Clamp-on filter Velocity stack / Balancer tube

I had a Uni pod filter on my stock carb.. couldnt get it jetted right.. its sluggish in the low end.. just rebuilt.. no air leaks
everyone says to run a balancer tube/velocity stack..
lets see if they're right!

started with these parts

i removed the clamp off one side of the coupling and then inserted into the uni filter. it actually kinda snaps in..nice and tight.. i put the clamp on it just in case.

installed

my jetting prior to tube instal.
320 main jet
stock pilot
needle at 2nd from top

screams on the top end
sluggish at bottom/mid throttle

plug chop shows its running right
ive tried all kinds of jetting combos and cant get the low end to rip like it use to.

im gonna run it tomorrow and see if i can dial it in with this tube.

hey just a quick thing to think about, with that rubber connection piece in there you have moved the balance point of that filter a bit so it may get to floppin and pop apart starting a nasty airleak. also i think you may be better off to find a piece of steel tubing to fit inside of the whole connector to keep down the turbulence caused by the filter to connector joint.

and how come you dont have the red outer foam piece on your filter? did it come with one?

i dont think it came with one..
i bought UNI FOAM CLAMP ON FILTER 1... this one

i have this type, guess i didnt realize it was a dual stage syste, just thought it was the normal uni

and let me know how that wors out tomorow for you, i have the same type setup, but i just bolted my filter right on the carb, but i dont have an outwears even though i need one

WOW, I can wheelie again.
This little tube made a big difference in the low end.
