Bought a pre headlight change blaster, my main question is in regards to getting. Blaster had an fmf fatty gold series pipe and fmf silencer. Also has no air filter lid or even a filter at all. Runs great revs all the way out until 4th or 5th gear then at high revs it kind of surges/cuts in and out. Kind of jerks you forward and back as it grabs and loses power.

I can only assume I'm lean as hell, like blow up lean. It's jetted with a 270 main, I ordered what I would call a dome style sir filter with a screw in the middle I just can't imagine no air filter being worth any performance gains. Maybe 270 will be right after the filter restriction? I also ordered a jet kit with like 260-300 I see bad things about jet kits on the forum so I guess I need to find a dealer around here to get some genuine ones. I'm at about 700 ft elevation. It's around 70 degrees.

Also I can see some dirt/grit getting into the plastic tube leading to the carb, recommended cleaning method before I put on the air filter? I guess carb cleaner and paper towels.

I've tried adjusting the clutch but even with no slack and a full handle of pull on the cable it grabs a little bit in gear bogs the bike down a bit. Doesn't really release until the end of the travel so I'm guessing this is just how they are?

I broke the headlight housing trying to get into it to replace the bulb stuff seized up, put an LED pod in it's place and it's flickering I'm guessing from ac current any recommended adapter/rectifier thing.

The rear brakes had no pad at all just calipers, ordered some pads hopefully that's straight forward the calipers appear to work.

Reed valves didn't seem awful but didn't seal as much as I would think, had a chip but it wasn't deep enough that it would appear to effect airflow. Ordered new ones anyway seems like a wear item possibly related to my surge issue, I'm guessing at this point.

Get a filter on there asap !
yes - no filter will cause a major lean condition
270 to 300 mains will usually be in the range for an FMF and air filter.
start large and plug chop down ... https://www.blasterforum.com/threads/how-to-plug-chop.53237/

sounds like you need a new clutch cable

carb cleaner on a rag attached to a coat hanger has worked for me cleaning the airbox tube

Hey Awk,

Received my air filter and it runs identically. Haven't received jets yet but I saw absolutely no change at something i would think would richen it up. Wondering on an air leak somewhere do you sell those leak down testers still. I found a post on it on my phone last night but can't refind it and couldn't see how to message you directly.
