Dakotademon7's build gone addictive

After mount the caliper I seen it was hitting the carrier mount bracket to. I just took the grinder and shaved just a little off the caliper where it was hitting. You may not have to do this depending on how far you need to space it. After it was all bolted down, the disc was not dead center so I will be adding another washer and may not need the ground down spot on the caliper. If not, no big deal. I was ver little that was removed and will not hurt the strength of the mount at all. I have to run to the hardware store for more washers.

check ace hardware for "steel collars/spacers" instead of washers, i use them on the 01-03 cali's i sometimes use

and ................
now that i'm looking at how you did that to a solid mounted shee disc, and knowing that one or the other (disc or caliper) should float for proper pad wear, i wonder if it is possible to allow the caliper to float back and forth on the bolts ???

that would requie the bolt to go thru the other direction so the caliper could slide on the smooth shank part of the bolt, then double nut it to the bracket ????

i will have to look into this further, so i can possibly offer and be confident my kits will work on shee axles without having lopsided pad wear

BTW....keep an eye on pad wear, you'll prolly find the outer pad wearing before the inner one, i have gotten numerous gsxr cali's in that weren't floating from dirt/lack of maintainece, and that seems to be the case, it won't hurt the performance, but they will require replacement more often

That's why I'm trying to line up the disc to the center of the caliper as close as I can. I was out in the garage thinking about to make it a floating caliper to. Great minds think alike.lol.

Finished mounting up my CFM air box. I don't know how it's suppose to mount but it didn't look like it would have been close. I just did it my way.lol.

Deaided to do a little modification the my GSXR rear brake. I wanted a little more peddle travel be for the brake locks up. The spring is from an RC car shock.

All I have to do is get some 2 stroke oil and gas. Got alot done on it yesterday. I need a clutch cover gasket bit I'm going to use some rtv gasket maker till I get one. I'm afraid to use the cheap oil.

yep if there is one thing not to go cheap on, it's the oil's

The bike shop has Honda HP oil. I'll get a thing of that till I can order some Maxima or something. I want to try that Benol and see how it smells. I see alot of people say that's the best smelling. I love the smell of exhaust.lol.

I'll be doing a vid of my break in ride but may need help posting the vid. My you tube pass work is not working and I can't find how to fix it.

Only if I keep it at half throttle with my HJR porting.LOL. One of the girls at work lives down by the bike shop and is going to pick up the oil for me. It would be an hour drive for me there and back.
