D slide carb...what do you guys think?

yes

i have that carb
it helped a little overall but where i really found the difference was in the revs it revs way faster

the air boot is a bear to get over it u have to heat it up with a blow dryer to get on the carb

over all i think it was worth it for a lightly moded blaster, (pipe, airbox lid removed, and k&n filter)

I would find a good 33 mm Keihin pwk for when you decide to mod down the road. The first year Blasters actually had dual carbs. 28mm is too small

well idk about having duel carbs cuz i have an 88 blaster and thats the frist year they came out....anyways, i am not planning on doing anything really crazy to my engine, not a 240 kit or anything like that, but what would be the best carb to get for mild to moderate modified engines? i've read alot about the Keihin carbs but i've only seen 28mm and 34mm so idk if there is something inbetween. also what one is better the PJ keihin or the pwk?

so what would be a good recomendation for a carb for mild to moderate engine mods, or one that will work ok if future mods want to be done....engine is stock right now...

33mm is not too big for a ported engine. It is ignorant to say you need 240 cc's when a ported 200 can flow more..
You get a 28mm now and you'll be buying a 33 or 35 later on...
Pwk is better than PJ in my opinion.

I said i wasn't planning on getting a 240 kit...i'd rather keep that engine bore mostly stock...and just do thing like a pipe, v forced reeds, different carb etc etc....why do you say pwk is better then PJ? can you explaine in more detail?

the pwk carb is a newer version of the pj. The pwk has a better idle adjustment. The carb also has better flow for the engine because it has "wings" on the airbox side of it. You should be able to find yourself a 30-32mm. That would be a good size to run with your mods, imo.

thanks stroker..always helpful
and loser...i am going to have to stand my ground on this one but you do provide some good evidence...i'll have to research it more!:)

Just to let you know, theres nothing wrong with a pj carb. Since the pwk's came out the pj's are really cheap and still a good carb to run. It really just depends on your budget and how much you want to spend.
