I dont see how CT can sell there 240 kit (you have to send them your cylinder) with carb, pipe, and pretty much everything you need for $929 it would cost that much just for a pipe, carb, piston, and standard rebuild almost right? so is everyone happy with CT kit or do you wish you would of bought the 240 sleeve and had someone else port it? thanks for any help in advance

CT is regarded as the best BBK out there, airsal is also very nice. if $929 is cheap you wanna buy my blaster for $8,000?? lol :D

They dont give you a carb or a pipe or none of that.

"CT Sonic 240cc Big Bore Blaster Motor Package......$995.00

Kit includes: New Sonic big bore cylinder, CT porting, head, big bore piston kit, wrist pin bearing, reed cage, intake boot, and top-end gasket set."

That seems pretty pricey to be honest.

and the setup he's talking about is just a resleeved stock cylinder, not an actual ct/la sleeve with the cr reed cage etc

scroll down under the dyno sheet man theres more options using a sleeve instead of a true 240 bb cylinder

Still, the reason to go to CT (imo) is to get the CT cylinder. Why would you want a sleeved stock cylinder when you could have the redesigned cylinder? Or better yet, get the LA Sleeve cylinder for $400 less? Maybe I should start selling leakdown testers too? LOL

I didnt know there was a difference with the cylinders. thought you just had to pay extra for a cylinder instead of sending them yours. Anyhow the darn pipe, carb, and intake is $600 so what should i spend the other $300 on to get the most power? obviously a port job. then what? or is the CT kit a better deal you think?

No, the CT Sonic cylinder is a ground-up redesign based very heavily on the 250R. But like I said the LA SLEEVE version is basically the same cylinder for less money. Check it out. You could do that cylinder and still add a used pipe and carb for prob less than the CT sleeve kit. I wish I had ,but I didn't know it existed at the time.

The CT sleeve kit still isn't a bad deal, it just improves on the stock cylinder and adds some good parts. Some people like package deals though.
