Counterbalancer needed?

So I start taking my blaster apart to firgure out why my clutch wasn't working. Well it seems like whoever was in there before me removed the counterbalancer gear... Question is I'm outta money to fix this thing do I need a counterbalancer gear? Or can I run without it? I see some say yes others say no. It wouldn't be ridden long maybe 30 minax a time and just trails

Its there for a reason...to counter balance the crankshaft.

Vibration is also greatly reduced!

To improve the balance of the motorcycle’s engine, counterweights are used to do the trick.

Don't know how you could stand it without one? When mine puked the gear it shook worse than a whore in church.
