i couldnt figure out where to post this haha i would just like some feedback on this. i was recently clocked on my blaster pushing 70mph. i was being chased with a honda civic and i was told upper 60s and i broke 70 at one point. i think this is good for not being ported, bored or anything major like that. what do you guys think?

downhill or the civic has the wrong size tires on it and his speedo is off by about 10mph

did u know that a speedo is not 100% acurat in a modern car they give a reading a few miles faster than ur actuly doing i got my stock baster past a radar gun @53.9 With a full thank of fuel

thanks haters. i never said speedos were 100% im not stupid. especially when being chased.

don't be haaatin !!!!!!!!
just statin our beliefs bro, not hatin on ya

i think i love these threads I:I

yup, what gearing/tires.....you can actually calculate your top speed given you know your RPM and clutch slip

Not trying to hate on ya, but it's unlikely you were above 60mph. Only way to really know is to carry a GPS that will store your max speed.

Helps to run them side by side. So you even have a 14 tooth sprocket? If not, 70mph is impossible....not an opinion....it is literally impossible. :D

i have a 14t front, 28mm carb, custom high flow airbox, pipe, high compression head gasket on a fresh rebuild, stock bore, there is more performance wise that i cant think of right now.

What size rear tires? I'll say you weren't going faster than 65mph. Not being a hater, just saying from experience with multiple Blasters.

its simple gearing ...
if you had 100 hp its wont go any faster then the gearing and tires size will allow
sorry

what size are your tires?

MPH= TIRE RADIUS / 168 X ENGINE RPM / GEAR RATIO.

We know the primary reduction is 71/22 (look in the manual)
thats 71/22 = 3.227

The gearing is 40/13 stock = 3.077
40/14 = 2.857

Take the 8500 rpm and divide it by 3.227 = 2634, then divide that by which gear your in 6th (0.905) = 2910rpm of the output shaft. Divide that by your gear ratio, in this case 3.077 and you get your rear axle rpm

with 20" tires it would look like this
MPH= TIRE RADIUS / 168 X ENGINE RPM / GEAR RATIO.

MPH = 10 / 168 X 2910 / 3.077 = 56 MPH
MPH = 10 / 168 X 2910 / 2.857 = 60 MPH

if your running 18" tires it will be slower
