I was riding my blaster today it was running fine, it was rainy and wet but not pouring. well anyways everything was good until i ran out of gas and then it started to sputter and run bad. i got back to the house refilled it but it now starts really hard and when it does start it idles high and dies. once in awhile you can get it to rev and you can play with the throttle to make it run but eventually it still dies... im totally stumped here, i think it may either be the spark plug or i might of sucked something into the carb when i ran it dry?

so clean the carb? thats what i thought and i also used a different 2 stroke oil cause i didnt have any klotz laying around atm... i used high preformance 2 stroke snowmobile oil?

Take your carb apart and clean it. You may have some dirt and water in your carb. You get some water in the tank from sitting. Water floats on top of gas so you can get a good bit of it over time.

so i took it apart today and the main jet had an obvious amount of dirt in it and the bowl had some too, so i cleaned it up put it back together and now it wont start and is flowing out the over flow.??

You ether have some dirt in the float needle or you put back together wrong. Did you flush the fual line and petcock before you installed the fual line ?

take out all the part of the carbs. clean them and blast them with some air. then put it back together. if it was running fine then its mostly likely something not sealing right or clogged. flush the tank and try to get any dirt or water outta there.

Im almost sure i put it together right and I'll take it back apart and reclean it tomorrow I've had enough of the carb for tonight lol. And nah Alls I did is in some fuel into a cup and it flowed fine and no dirt.

I'll try that. Thanks ! And maw it's just a pain to get it in and out of the airbox boot. Is there an easier way to do that?

so i tapped it.. didnt work. took it back apart re-cleaned.. still doesnt work.? still steadily drips out overflow. needle has perfect tip on it floats are perfectly level and the tab doesnt look out of wack the needle seats. i have no clue what it could be i mean the thing the needle goes in when i pulled it out the seal tore a little but not completely would that matter if it sealed completely? i figured it was just there to hold it in there

little trick i did to my 250. theres a small tab in the middle on the metal part holding the floats together. bend it down a bit and it'll put more pressure on the needle. also take the needle out and clean inside there with an Q-tip. the one on my 250 leaks because the tip is metal and not rubber for some reason so it doestn seal well. but i cant see a rubber one leaking if thats clean and you floats are moving freely. also shake the carb and see if the floats bounce around easily.

i cleaned the whole carb for like an hour just q-tip and carb cleaner i got that needle seat spotless man, i think it must be the o ring on the needle seat it tore when i put it back in so it must leak through that. i just popped it in there as it was and didnt think to much of it just thought it held it in there. i pulled the o ring off and tryed ghetto rigging an o-ring with elastics for braces lolol. stillll doesnt work. so yo, i got the main jet is there a second jet?? im pretty positive there is and where people pull it oout (in the bowl part of the carb) it doesnt look like i have one but i never took it out and nothing fell out i know for sure i was very careful about that...

floats bounce easily also. im pretty clueless guys. ive done a carb a ton of times im pretty fimiliar with them. i had an 89 moto 4 before this alllll kinds of carb trouble ha. but is a two stroke carb diff cause i only saw on jet the main jet.
