carb overflow and idling problem i.e. my gas just leaks out

ok i dont know whats up with this blaster but when i put gas in the tank it just goes out the overflow, and ive adjusted my throttle cable all the way out and made a shim for even more adjustment it still wont idle even after siting there playing with the jets and throttle cable for hours so could any one help me PLZ THIS CRAPS ANNOYING I:I

Check that your float is not stick and make sure the bottom of your carb is sealing correctly. You may have dirtr/grit in you float plunger, which will not allow it to fully close.

Sounds like a good time to clean your fuel system. Tank, petcock, and carb. Set float level. Inspect float needle valve for wear. Also O-ring on outside of needle seat can leak.

Yup happens to me too sometimes after letting it sit all winter. Sometimes you can get the floats to go back to the proper level by tapping the float bowl with a screwdriver. In the future I would recommend stabil or something if you are gonna let it sit, and/or turning the gas off and let it use MOST of the gas that is in the carb before shutting it down (don't let it completely run out of gas).
