Hello,
I posted a while back when I joined forums with my project blaster that I stripped down to every last nut and bolt and rebuilt/restored/powdercoated/refinished. Well, I have the quad almost all back together (finally) and I got the motor hooked up, airbox on, new filter, new topend etc. etc. I took the cases apart and media blasted them inside and out so there is ZERO sludge/dirt/crud in the motor, I also completely dissasembled and cleaned the carb but I didnt take the jets out and like a dummy I didnt look at what size they were. So, I set the air screw at 1.5 turns out, tried to mess with the TORS idle screw but it seemed like I couldnt screw it all the way in, seemed stripped almost, but I didnt mess with it too much. I backed it out a little, and began trying to kickstart the quad.
Its hard to get it to start, it will start either with the choke on, or with the choke off and the throttle wide open. With choke on it will idle, but it dies when I turn choke off, with throttle wide open, it starts but when I let off throttle it bogs and dies.
I am using stock header with dg silencer, boysen reeds (not full boysen cage, just replacement double paned reeds), no airbox lid with no toil foam filter.
so, anyone have any ideas? I know I need to check what jets are in it but had stock exhaust on before and reg airfilter.
any help is much appreciated, thanks!
