Would you guys buy a Blaster w/o a title?

I bought my firstone w/o a title but the guy wrote me a bill of sale.

I was rather in experienced buying a used ATV. I had only owned dirtbikes that my father had bought me and I never messed with a title or anything. Then again, it had never croseed my mind that someone would steal a quad. I just don't think that way I guess..... Well, after reading the post on here about thieves it kinda opened my eyes......

So, I found a 91 Blaster for sale that I am going to try and look at New Years Day. Would you guys buy it w/o a title? What is the proper method of proving a legit purchase.

Thanks

check to see if the vins have been removed or they where tampered with first an if the person is willing to give you a bill of sale then if anything happens when u try to get a title it will fall back on him an then you could sue i think.. not sure but it will fall back on him

i buy atvs all the time with no 'title' go to local dnr with the frame numbers and bill or sale.. fake or real.. and be like hey i need to regiaster this, they run it if its clear you leave with new registration in your name

bill of sale is good. just make sure the numbers are all there...all states are different

will i bought mine w/o a title and didn't even get a bill of sale but a few days ago the guy called me up and said that he had the title so got lucky there
but no one here who has a used atv never has a title but most have a bill of sale

if the price is right i would buy it with out a title. but i dont think i will ever buy another quad with out a title cause in PA they are total pricks and you cant register them with out a title. and bill of sales are no good where i am they will take it it if i ever get stopped cause its not registered to me witch is beat..

i got mine w/o a title, here in DE. you dont have to register your quad since is not legal to ride anywere....but at least get a bill of sale just in case

I guess it depend on the area.
In my state a titile, regitstration is not required to ride anywhere.
Around here if I goto say my local ATV riding park they only require that I pay lol

Thanks guys.......

Like I said, I had never considered buying an ATV w/o a title. I just assumed that after a few years (9 in my case) the title had gotten lost.

I am going to make sure I get a bill of sale minimum from the nxt person I buy one from. I also know a few police officers to see what the laws are.

Once again, thank you

i got nothing when i bought my frame. thats the main reason i run, noooo way am i getting hosed because i dont have any paperwork after spending $1000 on this machine.

wow I guess I got it good. soo many nice trails to ride and everyones atv friendly (: except for the old people like "rahh tearin up my yard makin noise on my property" its not like half of em can even hear it anyway lol

i don have a title but around here you cant ride anywhere. i have a bill of sale to prove i bought the bike from the previous ownerand its paid for. when itcomes to theft... just keep it locked up in the garage... or anywhere. just don leave it in truck on trailer or outside

I only would if it was cheap. I don't have a title but I only paid $800 for my blaster.

Thats about what I gave for mine... I'm just going to make sure I get a bill of sale with the next one I buy! Not worth it to me. I don't want a stolen quad anymore than I want someone to steal mine
