i have seen where some people have leaks in this area. i know there is a gasket but does anyone coat there gasket with copper coat or Indian head sealer ? just wondering if this would prevent any potential leaks that might become an issue:-/
Dude did you try torque the head bolts down. Get a torque wrench!
I just rebuilt my engine and did not use that. It does sound good. Maybe i wouldve used it. But truth be told after my third break-in cycle i retorqued the head bolts and no problems.
most of the leaks there are caused by cheap aftermarket gaskets
if you just use a yamaha oem replacement you'll be fine. and retorque them after heat cycles
its the same "green" gasket
have you seen the ones that they make to bump up the compresion
yup, that's the green one, those gaskets are half the thickness of the stocker, which is enough to also change your port timing slightly
How do you get a tourq wrench on the jug bolts?
mine was a metal type kinda materal it didnt even look like a gasket
