Never seen that on a Bike, that would really piss me off if it was mine.
What do you think caused it? The Flywheel being off balance?

man never seen that before, ,tough break man.. now a great time to buy a 3mil crank and drop in there

I've seen that happen to axle shafts with big tires and lockers involved.....never on a crank!! What could have held that flywheel so tight that that could happen??!?!?!
1. Crank not true or moved after it was installed.
2. Flywheel nut backed off.
3. Broken, cracked motor mount.
4. Motor mount bolt backed off.
What type of crank is it? Factory, +3, +4.

this one was stock and fly wheel nut and key were still tight, motor mounts good and no funny vibrations before it fell off, oh well 
maybe it was just a bad crank that had a hairline crack in it. i guess just be happy that it happened on the OUTSIDE of the cases.
Looks to me as a fail in the process of builiding it (Yamaha Factories). Thats the thing I dont like about Yamaha, they kinda half-a$$ed 2002-2006 blasters. But I love love love their bikes
