ive got a ? my blaster always had a slight little knock when u would get on it hard and let off so i didnt let it bother me cause i figured it was ready to blow well a week later it did well anyways it still does the same thing after a complete rebuild do u guys think this could be due to running 87 octane its a real quit knock lmk what u guys think i put a new crank piston bearings and had it bored over lmk thanx

omg, you are running regular?, I can imagine the carbon build up on your piston. premium is for high compression engines..such as blasters.

premum is 93 octain and i think its normal for the nock cus myn and my gfs blaster bolth do it when u let off and hers is only a year or so old and myns been rebuilt latly i havnt had any probs

ya ive never had prob either i was just wondering and what do u mean real smart its a 2 stroke there meant to be beatin the hell out of not to see how long u can make the engine last

is the knocking comein from the head area or the stator area .. cause when i ran 87 in mine befor i rebuilt her, when i started her up you could hear a knocking comeing from the head area, only did it a little bit at low rpms .. its prolly from predetonation .

blasters arnt high comp.... i ran 87 and it was fine i only run 93 octane now because i milled the head

All I'm saying is, your engine will run and operate much better with premium. I was told to run premuim by the mechanic that built my engine in June of 07 . You can believe me or not, have it your way for all I care.

stock blaster motors run fine on regular. and when in the hell does regular gas have higher carbon buildup over premium? you have no idea what you are talking about and apparently neither did you mechanic.

octane is the gasolines ability to resist premature detonation. it does not burn cleaner, faster, slower, hotter, or colder. it ONLY raises the point at which it will explode while under pressure.

87 octane is fine and a stock motor isnt high enough compression to worry about detonation.

Not being a smart ass, i promiseI:II:I

But..... Higher octane burns slower then lower octane.B-)

87 will burn faster and 93 will burn slower.

Thats just a general rule, but obvously isnt so. I was wrong, and the hot rod guys proved it.
