400ex shock conv HELP!!!

Bolted in the "new shock". Used KOR BUSHINGS. Ok good. It says modify airbox or intake. I can't get it on the carb. It's close but won't go . What do I have to do? Reservoir is on top of shock. Should I flip it so it's below? Profanity isn't working.......

cannot flip, it will hit the frame when compressed.

not sure what you're doing wrong, i've installed at least 5 400ex/450r shocks with stock airboxes without a hitch.

what did you "modify" ?

the rezzie will rub the front of the stock airbox but should not interfere with the rubber intake boot at all ?

you got the rubber intake tube reattached to the pin on the frame ?

Yes I attached to the pin first. Il take it off and put it on the carb first.... Duh..... Thanks Awk !!!!!!

Just put my boys back together. It hits the intake. Can't quite get it down all the way.

The air box lid needs to be modified, not the box.

I took the lid and put it in a vise at the clamp joint . I then tightened it till the round rubber/ metal clamp piece was oval. Put the lid back on tight ,just barely hits shock now.

Well good luck Face78. That's an easy temp fix for me. Planning on running straight off with a UNI real soon.
