i traded my old beat dirtbike for a yamaha blaster but i cant get it to run right. it has 123 lbs of compression has spark and is getting fuel. it will start up after kickin it for a while and run for a few seconds then die out. it seems to be running really ritch because oil is dripping the exaust and the plug is soaked when i take it out i cleaned the carb 4 times ajusted the float it just dosent want to go. the kid i got it from said it was the tors system i bypassed that but no change any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

you make sure the air filter is clean?.. and if the air box lid isnt off pop it off and try starting it .. and and if it is still doing it try turning the fuel pet weiner off and starting it and see if it well let it run to get the extra fuel out ..

yea im usually really good when it comes to this stuff i did all that i took the air filter off compleatly to see it it would run and maby lean it out a little did nothing. even when i turn off the gas it does noting that changes it dosent stay running long enough to clear all the gas anyway. im thinking either eletrical or seals in the crank case because when i got it the kid said the tors unit was the problem i bypassed the tors unit and it ran good at low rpm i would ride it up my driveway and it would stall but that was before i pulled the carb so im not sure if the carb being dirty was the problem but now it will only run for a few seconds before it just dies and i know i put the carb back together right because i pulled it apart 3 times makeing sure i did reading the book as i put it together.

um, turn the fuel off..pull the choke, and roll it down a really big hill and pop start it..and kick it unto 1st or 2nd..and if it runs, ya.and if it just sounds like its bogging down, just let it keep going, then slose the choke, and open th fuel..sounds crazy, but try it

haha i have tryed pop starting it it starts up and bogs out immideatly with the fuel on or off i think this thing is cursed i have tryed everything it just dosent want to run

"pop starting" is not the answer, pull your float bowl and make sure your float isnt sticking, thats what it sounds like
if that still doesnt do it, bottom out your air screw lightly and pull it 1 1/2 turns out and start there. you can only go down after that, the air scew is only good from 1 1/2 to 1/2 turns out.
but the first thing i would do is check out the float

i pulled the float and the pin the pin was stuck its still doing the same thing i did it a few times i have tryed everything the book and i could think of

what is a woodruft key the key in the flywheel? that would cause it to have spark but it wouldent be timed right that makes sence i have been meaning to pull the fly wheel on it to check the stator but just havent goten to it its like 0 degreese out just waitin for it to warm up a bit. but i did have it running ok but it wouldent hit high rpm then one day it just barely started maby the flywheel just rotated to a point where its so out of time it can barely start

yea the key that holts the fly wheel in place, umm yeaa i would pull it off make sure its right, how is your compression?.. now when your plugs come out wet, did you try putting a dry 1 in and try starting it again?..

the woodruft key is the key in the flywheel keeping it in time right? that would make sence kinda because i had it running ok but it would spudder out at high rpm but maby while i was riding it around it skipped more but when it starts it runs decent for the few seconds it does run it allmost sounds like its being grounded out by something but it could be just flooding itself so bad because its soo out of time i have been meaning to pull the flywheel but its like 0 degreese out and i wanna wait until it warms up a bit ill try to get to it tomorrow i wanna check out the stator anyway

yea the woodruft key is holding the flywheel in time right that would make sence ill check it out tomorrow i have been meaning to pull the flywheel its 0 degrees out but ill crank up the heater i wanted to check the stator anyway

haha sry i my comp messed up and it dosent show the posts that i sent so i figured it wasent postin it but yea ill put a new plug and it will do the same thing it has 123 lbs of compression and im preety sure thats damn good for a two stroke

i was wonder why you posted the same thing haha ,yea thats good for a blaster, if the key moved it would cause it to fire at the wrong time i guess you could say, i would pull the flywheel and take a look, you will need a flywheel puller if you dont already have 1,

yea im gunna impact gun the bolt off i have a puller it looks like it will work i think its a clutch puller but the flywheel is small i think it should get it done if not ill borrow one from my nabor ill let you know tomorrow i hope thats the prob cuz thats an easy fix

yea that should get the job done, yea i think they are pretty cheap like a couple bucks at the dealer .. yea lmk what you find ..

you should actually get the correct puller.
there are many horror stories about people using whatever puller they had lying around and either snapped their flywheel in half or mushroomed the end of their crank, or both
