Hello i'm new and my first post....i'm geting soon my first quad a 2000 blaster...that PO ran out of oil....ive worked on many old yamahas and done top ends and such...and i figurard thats all this bike will need?....but i have never ran a bike till it seazed from no oil....do you guys think that a hoan/bore and new pistion and rings will fix?...of could there be crank bearing damage?...or other componants?...and how much does the oil block off plate cost...might do that cuz maybe it ant working?...any is apriciated..thanks

oil block off kits aren't too expensive like 25 bux and yeah you could have fried everything but you will have to pull the top and check the crank. some side to side play is normal but nothing excessive. and NO up and down play. With my expireince i would probably replace the crank and bearings too but i have all the tools

^^^^^ Those would be the same oil. If it ran out of 2 stroke oil, then the motor could be a mess inside. The oil injector is what supplies the oil to the whole bottom and topend of the motor. Now if it ran out of transmission oil, then that would be not so bad. Granted it probably did some extensive damage to the tranny but nothing should be wrong with the crank, bearings, piston, ect...

yea a 2 stroke dont have engine oil...just in the clutch area....it was the two stroke oil the boy ran it out of....blaster resto?...i see a sand rail frontend like mine?..do tell

Yep, only way to know the extent of the damage would be to completely tear into her. If it was my bike, I would just put new bearings and a new crank to be safe. On the bright side, if you get a new crank, might as well get a stroker, since the +3 vitos cranks are only like 30 bucks more than a stock stroke crank.
