Well got a new toy with a blown top end all stock for 300. ruff but can be fixed. It has a good frame and is all stock front brakes work better than man and i have adjusted it. Also the frame has no bends crack or welds unlike mine, I think i might put all my aftermarket stuff on it and rock this depending on year of frame etc. Heres a few pics just goin back to stock unless i use this frame and motor for my build. This thing has never seen soap there is grime everywhere! It has no front or rear fender brackets etc just unmaintained the reedcage/manifold bolts were finger tight with grime around them assuming that was a air leak. The guy said he was 6th wot and it blew so hes a dumbass.

I think i have a powder coater lined up if so this thread will be deleted and another build will pop up with orange/silver/black color scheme.

It will be spotless when it leaves me. the powder coater is a no go so i guess i might paint it but ill have to think about it.

well im almost done with the other one so this one is on the list. its already got a new topend on it just needs some carb work and wiring then it will get started then it needs to be put all back together and paint a few lil things then ill hopefully sell it.

Well i got tired of the other one figured i switch to this one for a bit. I Painted the hood and tank cover white and painted the frame a lil to clean it up. Also i painted the grab bar and bumper black. Heres a few pics. The front fenders are just sittin there since ill have to take the exhaust off to do a leak down test anyway cause it needs crank seals.
Painted the kicker thumb throttle and the clutch cover.

I HAVE ALREADY RESIZED THE PICS PHOTO BUCKET JUST TAKES AWHILE FOR IT TO CATCH UP.

Looking good If it were me I'd take all your go fast look good parts and put it into the newer one. Swap em and sell the older "stock" one for a good chunk of quick cash to fund the other projects.

Lol, thats what im doing and have already done didnt you see my other build? lol this one is completly stock im just trying to paint a lil to make it look nicer to make it sell easily.

briefly I thought my shows were comeing on and I jumped off and got half way through the other build.lol forgot it was tuesday untill it was 7 o-clock

why are all your pics missing from this thread ?????

OH sorry about about that ill try to update them. on photobucket i made a build file and moved them to it so they deleted them here.

HELPWell had it together! Bad side is i took this topend off the black and orange bike and it has been used a few years but still ran good and had decent compression. I have a almost new topend on a diff bike which feels like it has more compression but this one has still Ran good when i took it off. I just put the topend on and crank seals, I started it and it sounded like marbles were bouncing around and would gain with the rpm's. I couldnt sell it like this im not a bad person and would feel bad ripping someone off. I took off the head and the piston had movement my dad seems to think somehow i put it in wrong but i dought i did i put the wrist pin in right and the rings in right not much other that would make a noise like this.
Could it be maybe something in the bottom end loose echoing through the topend since this is a bottom end i have never ran.

Heres a short vid showing the piston jiggle. its a cell vid but it may help explain what im meaning.

Also the oil injection lines are just cut and set there i dont belive there is anything to plug the lines and on my bike there is a lil plug on the carb i dont think there is any one this bike. The gear is still in there also should the lines be plugged and causing it to run extremly lean and burn up the topend? i took off the head and it didnt look to bad.

Yes the oil lines should be plugged. Doesnt matter if the gear is still there but I wouldnt keep it....

As for the slop in the piston that seems to be more of a bore size issure. The top and bottom connecting rod bearings are going to have SOME side to side slop, they are supposed to cause they get hot and will expand a bit, but there needs to be some room for oil to get in there and cool/lubricate them. Not sure on the exact specs but i would mic out the piston in a complete circle and mic out the cylinder in a complete circle. You MAY have gotten a bad bore job or it might be a bad piston.

Im leaning towards a non-bearing problem... If it had up and down slop, that would be a bearing problem, not side to side though.

It has a lil side to side and foward slope but the rings still touched the cyl all the way around. The thing is that this topend worked for years before. And now for some wierd reason its giving me troubles since i put it on a diff bike, Im thinkin about just throwing on a diff wrist pin and bearing and rings seeing if it helps and selling it.

You really need to mic numbers to know for sure... Dont know the exact tolerances off hand but the cylinder has to be a certain amount better then the piston. Msg Kenoconner about it and he can tell you.

IM gonna try a new set of wrings. WHere do i find the size of the piston it doesnt say on it.
