i have a 01 blaster fresh top end with wiesco piston and boyseen reeds and im recently getting a dg pipe and new jetting could i remove air box and get more horsepower
that dg pipe will hold you back no matter what other mods you do, pass on the D(on't) G(et) pipe and hold out for an FMF instead,
and yes removing the airbox lid, then rejetting for your new and improved air flow will definately give you more ooomph !!
and leaktest that top end before ever running it.......
Yes awk is right, the don't go dg is glorified stocker! I would get a fmf, toomey, pro circuit.. if u get any of the pipes listed rejet, and do a plug chop to conifrm
plug chops are used to confirm your main jetting is correct at wide open throttle , read your plug color, adjust main jet size accordingly, which saves you from frying your shizzle...................
Save your 50 and keep stock if you don't wanna go with one of the other pipes.
Don't park your bike outside when it's raining and you'll be fine for water. As far as dirt, if it's dust your worried about, an outerwear wouldn't be a bad idea. You'll still have seat on the thing so it's not like it's open to the elements.
You will get a lot of pleasure from the DG, if you paint it pretty and hang it on the outside of the shed.
Then every time you go past it, (after you have got a performance pipe fitted) give it a pat and whisper to it " Gee I am so glad I did not waste my time fitting you to the Blaster"!
There might be some value in the rims and tyres, and someone could be suckered into buying a pretty painted pipe in Craigslist.
you could probably pick up a used FMF for 150 if you look arround and wait. I x2 on the air filter and lid off it will give you more power than the dg will alone.
