01 blaster

Blaaster you got this? I never had a carb with tors
1) but when you have the carb off and the fuel drained from it there are 4 screws on the bottom of the bowl.
2)Get a good strong swrewdriver that fits and pressdown as hard as you can to get those screws out without stripping the heads.
3)once you get those out take the bowl straight off.
4) if you look in the center where the plastic retainer is that's whats called the main jet and regulates your fuel/throttle control from 1/2 thrott and up.
5) if it's a 230 jet stamped on it it is stock to remove it's a 6mm wrench to take it out. Now here's the tricky part if you got a full stock bike i'd go up to a 250 main jet but if you have an aftermarket pipe your gonna have to up it again so your bike is int lean so 6)What I sudjest is go to a dealer that sells jets and ask for a Mukuni (My-kun-knee in case you dont know how it's pronunced) 260-280 jet and start with a 270 Jet and leave it there cause if you adding a pipe it's just about where it's gonna need to be at with the lid off and a pipe being added.
OK also pick up some extra spark plugs if your willing to do a plug chop
1)one plug chop add the new plug and get the bike warmed up
2) next line the bike like you would be drag raceing with it and run it through to 5th or 6th gear this is important.
3) when WOT shut the bike off and come to a stop without useing throttle then take the lug out and add a new one to get home.
4) when home put the plug in a vice and put a hack saw to it and cut all arround the base of the plug. The point being getting the threads off so it dosent matter how as long as the white insulator just below the tip of of the plug isint damaged.
5) when off post some pictures of the plug for our assesment.
Good luck dude

Again top marks for the write up.

Shame some of the information is wrong, confusing and unnessary.

How about you read up on plug chops and jetting and then post the correct information.

Ball park figures only!

DG pipe only #250 main

DG with lid removed #260 main.

Cannot offer firm sizes as depending on elevation and temperature these settings will change.

Leave the pilot and needle alone. There is a little brass washer under the main jet make sure it goes back.

Plug chop to confirm, but warm it up on an old plug, and put in a new one when you do the WOT run.

The plug colour after the plug chop should be a cardboard or biscuit .

Do a search for a detailed description on how to plug chop.

yep ^_^ only i thought you needed to do it on a brand new plug my bad, cause thats how i did it(shrug)but yea thats what I started at 250 main and went up to a 260 when I added reeds at an ele. of 550-615 ft
