Fuel Injection. the infamous EFi that is now found on some 450r's and the 700 raptor. I think its a big piece of Sh....T just another excuse for manufacturers to bump up prices and get more out of your pocket.

I mean come on, it's ridiculous that even after you spent 550+ bucks on an exhaust system that you have to spent another 200 bucks on a stupid programmer, when with a simple carburator you jsut buy the jets and your done. Also i believe they just doing all this complicated engines and stuff so we can not fix em and are forced to be guardrailed in the dealers.

what are your opinions? :D

The major ATV manufactures are simply doing the same thing to their ATV's as the major Automobile manufactures to their cars. Make them 'better' with small upgrades and like you said making it harder to fix your machine your self. its just a way for them to try to make more money on your purchase.

couldnt have said it better myself, thanks for explaining it better lol :D

Well my opinion is that Fuld injection is way better being as it rams the gas in instead of sucking it in..

it is easier to work on a carb, all depends on what you like

efi is a great idea but to complicated for me and to expensive...just to pipe and filter your quad you have to buy a expensive programmer like said above

Yea, i know its a better system for a machine, its great if you have the money to buy a programmer and have the knowledge on how to use it, but 200 bucks to "jet" your quad is simply too much for the average person. I'll stay with my carbs :)

im with you all on this efi is to complicated for people that are in there shop with no fancy tools that dont like to spend alot but like to make there stuff fast and dont have the money everytime it needs an adjustment or you want to put a mod on there have to bring it to a dealer.. and there is just something about building a bike and doing it all by yourself there is just so much self acomplishment in it.. what would you rather pay $3 for a jet for a carb or $200 for a efi programer

i like the EFI, its not as complicated to tune just buy the programmer once and you can download as many tunes on it s you want, it self adjusts for altitude change and temperature, and they have trouble codes so if something goes wrong you hook a computer to it and it tells you the problem.

it's hard to say because we don't know the guy had going, he may of had an exhaust on the quad with out a tune and when he put the carb on he jetted right, or it could be just that just like cars now a days the manufacturers have to meet strict emissions standards and in order to meet them it was detuned from the factory and with a proper tune they would have got the same power, or even maybe he just had a crazy build with to small of a throttle body.

With fuel injection, correct me if I'm wrong, but you may be spending $200 on a programmer, but at the same time, it's kind of like a "one and done" type of deal. Once you have the programmer, you could do whatever performance mods you want over a lifetime w/ your quad, and never have buy anything other than your parts. It might seem like a lot, but I think in the long run, it's really not that bad.

if you know how to tune it your good but if not you can buy tunes from tuners over the Internet and down load them to your quad, I'm not sure of the price but i think it is nominal.

Ahh, I see. Yeah, so if that were the case, I suppose it would get pretty expensive then over a period of time.
