Your thoughts on...

With fuel injection, correct me if I'm wrong, but you may be spending $200 on a programmer, but at the same time, it's kind of like a "one and done" type of deal. Once you have the programmer, you could do whatever performance mods you want over a lifetime w/ your quad, and never have buy anything other than your parts. It might seem like a lot, but I think in the long run, it's really not that bad.

This isn't compleatly true.... i've seen were some heavely modded EFI bike go buy bigger injectors and T Bodies. IMO It's just the next gen in quads. Easyer starting, better responce. Eventualy quads will come with some sort of stock fuel controler so you don't have to buy one but there will always be some sort of aftermarket also.. Can Am has already started something like this that allows you to add mods without one. I would say that most will put a BASIC controler that would tak care of the most BASIC mods like a open lid and exhaust, cam, and things like that but if you went with a big bore motor and head porting and other more extreme mods then an aftermarket comtroler would be needed... everyone has to remember, EFI is a new thing to quads and eventualy when there are enough modles with it and some aftermarket company is going to invest a ton of money in R & D on the EFI systems and come out with some crazy ass aftermarket EFI systems that kick ass.

hmmm i bet this same converfation went on 30 years ago about cars..
and look at us now....
efi= no more cold starting issues, bogging, efi is a new thing to atv's, just like they were a new thing to cars at one time....
i personally cant wait to have my first efi quad.
