im thinking about buying a set of these... i was just wondering how hard it is to mount them.... also im torn between a cfm airbox, nerf bars, or handgurds and other cosmetic stuff...

nerfs and hand guards are NOT just cosmetic stuff... if you're getting nerfs, I'd get some for a different bike that have built in heel guards or steel ones you can weld heel guards onto. hand guards can seriously guard your hands when going thru trails with brush... tight trails can have brush overhanging pretty well into the trail. I didn't realize til my wife asked me about the sticks and brush in my helmet visor. had I not been wearing goggles I could've gotten my eyes damaged, gloves and hand guards WILL protect your hands from that. try giving one of your buddies a 1" thick branch. hold your bars and tell him to whack you on the hands with the branch and see what you think. tell him to swing it about 5-10mph and see what you think... I don't usually trail ride slow but I'd imagine that'd be enough to hurt but not do damage....

nerfs I like for help keeping my feet from going under the back tires. thus the heel guard ones I recommend :D

yeah ik theyre not cosmetic... i just meant handguards and mabes a new grab bar.... i think if theyre not too hard to mount im gonna go with the yfz guards..... i cant do any welding but im sure i can figure something out

I just have nurfs and no heal guards and have no troubles with my feet sliding back and into the tire. the gap there is only like six or eight inches so you would have to be pretty contorted to get a riding boot through there.

learn how to shift in the boots before you break an ankle man. I hated it at first too. I still find myself looking down to see if my boot is under the shifter every now and then. you might have your shift lever adjusted too low to fit your boot under it.

its not that i cant get the boot under it... i cant move my ankle up enough to shift....

is there any way to avoid fabbing? i have no way of doing it

What NOOB means by fabbing is creating a way to secure the rear mount points of the heel guard mounting bracket, there is no place on your blaster to mount them up. Each person chooses to mounts them differently, to each his own. So, is there a way to bolt them right on???

NO. They are not made for the blaster nor have a place to bolt them up.
Can they be installed to look and work functionally on a blaster???

Yup, me and NOOB both have um...

Happy fabbing... I:I

ha thanks bro.... this really saved my ass... hmmm now mabes i can still get rear hydros and hold off with the fronts til i get more money... or vice versa... or i can just get new pads all around

id deffinatly get rear hydros but id keep the front drum for a while that should be kinda an extra thing if they work alright

I just picked up some yfz guards. The only thing you need to fab is a bracket for the rear of the guard, otherwise they bolt up and they look much better than the stock ones. This is the bracket I am making. It's just 2 pieces of flat stock welded. I just need to clean it up and paint it. You could even get a thinner piece and bend it 90 degrees. The other side is similar.

bringing back an old thread here, but if i was to buy some a/m yfz450 heel guards, would they still fit onto the stock peg. since they dont make any for a blaster or banshee i dont think. plus some of the a/m ones look wicked.
