winter rebuild of jeff that changed everything

so here is the engine just sat in frame bolted though swingarm that i altered to fit engine in i took a little off just to squeeze it in as i habe a different swinger for final build so will put exact measurements up when i fit it.

As you can see from the picturs then brace that comes down to bottom of frame (by water pipe with white tape) stops the engine from rocking forward to sit in position. out with the cutting tools

with this bar moved it allowed the engine to rock forward just about squeezing under tank (minor mods to tank will show later)

does your sprockets line up? you should be doing all the mock up with the swingarm, axle assembly, chain and sprockets in place to be sure nothing is out of true. if they dont line up perfect, you will be eating chains, sprockets or worse, throwing the chain almost every time. just adding my opinion since i just did a hybrid myself.

in this pic you can stee the bottom mounts on the bottom brace of the frame as well as the front mounts

yes all lines up as the out side dims where it sits in frame doesnt alter only inside where engine sits i cut to much away to line sprockets and will now make new swinger fir as out side dims wont change. thanks tho

not got picture of top mount but its pretty obvious

next issue car

due to engine being taller i here is a issue

gonna struggle connecting that

first things first i made some gussets for top shock mount

bar now cut out

that covers pretty much every thing for getting engine in will be back soon to cover making the air box. if ive missed anythoing just point it out il try my best to cover it

finally getting round to finish Jeff ive tryed to get as much info into pictures for any other modder to have a start point as i couldnt find any nyself when i thought of trying this.

-And what's up with those a-arms in that last pic? Got any close ups of them?

-MacDizzy had a write up of a DT200/Blaster hybrid that showed how he mounted the radiator. Might wanna check into that.

Also, what's going to happen with the blaster engine, carb, and pipe?

The only problem I see... is that you did not make a brace to the head. There may be a vibration problem without one.

You can see the hanger in one of pics just forgot to drill it before paint but will be on as soon as i get round to it

That sucks i had a few of those not bad enough to slow it down to much though.

Cheers mate i wasnt going to share but as i found such limited info for inspiration to move forward i decided that its knowledge that has to be shared .

Id like to point out to anyone thinking i cant do this i have no tools bla bla bla i done this build with the following tools

Socket set
Cheap spanner set
Cheap second hand welder
Hammer
Grinder
File
Vice

All metal used was either cut from frame and re used or bits ive found over a few months on site.


Just take your time and enjoy it and be prepared for a stroppy mrs
