HEY GUYS. SIMPLE QUESTION. WOULD YOU GO WITH A-ARMS ($400+) OR WIDENING KIT ($200+ [diamond J widening kit]). THERES A FEW THINGS TO CONSIDER. COST! EFFICIENCY! RIDING LEVEL (PRO, NOVICE, ETC)! TYPE OF RIDING (MX, XC, TTR, TRAIL ETC!) I THINK THIS A GOOD TOPIC CAUSE PEOPLE WANT MORE STABILITY BUT MAYBE WILLING TO GO ALL OUT OR MAYBE RESERVED ON $$$. GIVE ME FEEDBACK!!!

i used to always go the cheap way, but when you get better at riding and wanna ride harder and faster, it sucks when your machine is restricting you and you gotta take it easy so it doesnt break. if you get a arms you wont be dissapointed.

you can sometimes find a good used set of aftermarket a-arms on ebay for like $250 <<thats wat i paid for my ASR's shipped off of here. with the widening kit being 200+ for itself you are much better off with the used set of a-arms

i believe widening kits are for the all show and no go riders... they make the bike wider and more stable but you are not gaining any extra travel whatsoever, if you want to widen the bike, rather just put on some spacers or flip the front wheels. putting wider a arms give you much greater travel, of course this will be limited by your shocks. it would be wise to do them as a package. rather save the money from the widening kit and spend a bit more and do arms and shock, even if its just banshee shocks. personally i wont touch a widening kit with a spade.

^^^^^ X2 about it doesn't give you anything but wider. No extra travel, no extra leverage on the shocks, and you still can't replace ball joints.

Also, X2 on the spade part too!

hahaha, :) if you have found the limit of the stock equipment, you need to do something. a widening kit is a waste of money and doesnt solve anything

if your gonna get extended a arms, the banshee shocks will be really restricting. if you gonna do the arm/shock combo then save your money till you get enough money for something good. you will thank yourself in the end for waiting.

i like extended a-arms but i am running a widening kit and jump but i'm runnin stiff yfz fronts but i dont weigh much so they should last me a long time but a-arms are by far better but a widening kit is for flat track and trail riding

I have a widening kit on mine, (it was on it when I bought it) and have never had any issues with it. I mainly ride trails, dunes, and hillclimb, (pretty hard sometimes). It is what it is, better than narrow, not as good as a bigger set of a-arms, but it works good for what I do with it. It's like anything, you get what you pay for.

Guys, like i said i really think it depends on a lot. You see blasterdad mentioned his ride area. I guess that kinda works. Then another mentioned price vs. Quality. Im a strong believer in you get what you pay for. Yes im in the market for suspension. I had about $400 saved. I was gonna go for the kit, but i think ill go for the +2 a-arms. I wont do the banshee shocks. Not!!! What i will continue looking for good deal on shocks. No elkas. Heading towards works. You guys are the best. Thanks for the opinions it guided my choice. If you have other opinions on shocks (not banshee) i welcome them... Thanks in advance!!!
