got a couple questions. now dont laugh at me but im getting a 1992 ford ranger 5 speed 2wd reg cab. i need to put a flatbed on it and was wandering if you had any ideas on how to do it. i thought angle iron and wood planks. also what is the best way to redneck rig a lift kit i need 6" suspension 3" body. its to beat the crap out of at an even down here in pa called Yankee lake truck night. also to go mud rumpin with the boys back in the sticks. let me know guys im stumped

oh f**k ya dude lol, whats the flat bed for? and body blocks are the cheapest, and since your not going for any cruize down to down with it, and its for off road, you shouldnt be worried about it, suspention lifts are quite costly, but i dont believe you can get a 9 inch body lift, why so high?

im a chevy guy first off. second i like flatbeds i think they look awesome. andd i know a few of my friends have 2wds and they make it pretty far where we go. and last but not least its 400$

save your loot and do not lift/modify a 2wd truck

still wouldnt do it, 4x4 is where you need to be, your better off gettin a mid or early 90s silverado, the way you sound miles are not a problem so you can uslally find one with higher miles pretty cheap, then go from there

In all seriousness, my truck only has 3" of lift and I -literally- have to jump into it. Anything over that seems a bit much. For any purpose. Can't imagine a real need, for all that.

my friends jeep was in our shop today with a 9" lift. he did 6" suspension and 3" body and it was not hard to get in at all. im running 35s on the ranger and it has 4 stacks

Did you move to hicksville??? You will spend a grand even on a cheap 6" ranger lift.

As said a 6" lift on a 2wd vehicle, is like having a 12" penis-nobody cares and nobody wants to ride it!

lol thats why i did not want to buy a suspension lift. i wanted to rig one. she is going to ran into the ground and scrapped.

One of my cousins had an older 2wd Ranger from the early 90's, and that truck went places few 4x4's were seen. Rangers are apparently pretty capable, especially with a locking or limited-slip rear end. That said, my 2wd Ranger didn't like going offroad and my 2wd Silverado struggles to get up my sandy driveway in the heat of summer. My wife's S10 Blazer has yet to prove itself offroad, since the 4x4 went out last summer, but it has no locking front diff...

If I were you, Id save your $$ and get a cheap 4x4. I live in the middle of Hick County (its not just the town!! :o), and every serious offroader out here drives either a 4x4 Silverado from the '90's, or an older Toyota. My. 02.

its just something to beat the living piss out of then scrap and get most of my money back. my dad is "going to buy me a half ton" with 4x4 and its going to be a late 90s early to mid 2000s f150 or gmc
